Elocution/Recitation Competition:

The Elocution competition is held in Gujarati / Marathi / Hindi and English. The Recitation competition is only in Sanskrit. A Special Reading Competition is also held for the Hearing-impaired. There is NO ENTRY FEE.

Rules:
** There is No Entry Fee. Participation Certificates will be issued to all participants.
** Schools can participate in any of the 5 venues mentioned in this brochure and indicate the same in the entry form.
** Only 5 (five) students to be sent for each category.
** A participant can compete in more than one language.
** Please ensure that the names and surnames of participants are legibly written in CAPITAL LETTERS in your Entry Forms so as to avoid any mistakes while preparing Prize-Winners’ and Participation Certificates.
** A panel of three judges, whose decision shall be final and binding, will assess the participants. No further enquiry in this regard will be entertained.
** Prescribed Books in Gujarati, Marathi, Hindi & English and Sanskrit Passages can be collected from the office of Ramakrishna Math, 12th Road, Khar (W), Mumbai – 400 052.
** Please send all the Entry Forms to the Ramakrishna Math, Khar.

Criteria for assigning marks will be as follows :
Content -30 Marks
Clarity / brevity -10 Marks
Impact / Impression -10 Marks
Total -50 Marks

Please note that the last date for receipt of entries for Elocution, Recitation & Vivekotsav Competition is one week before the scheduled event.

Best School : 1 Trophy (Maximum Prize Points)
1st Runner-Up School : 1 Trophy
2nd Runner-Up School : 1 Trophy
Champion of Champions : 1 Trophy (Individual prize)
Championship Awards : 20 (one in each category)
All Prize-Winning Students : Books

Championship Round for Elocution competition :
Only First-Prize Winners from all the groups of all 5 venues are eligible to contest in the Championship Round. Contestants for the Championship Round have to prepare all the three prescribed topics (except Sanskrit) and speak on the topic which they themselves will choose by drawing lots.

All prize-winners and participants will be given certificates.

Prize points : Championship Prize : 18 points
1st prize : 9 points
2nd prize : 4 points,
3rd prize : 1 point.
