#LaughterFestOnStarMovies Contest

The following are the terms and conditions governing the “#LaughterFestOnStarMovies” contest hosted by Star India Private Limited  for the promotion of the slot “Laughter Fest’ (“Slot”) on Star Movies India, starting from 28th November, every Monday to Friday at 5PM.

The contest invites interested persons to participate in the Contest by tweeting using the hashtag “#LaughterFestOnStarMovies” (“Hashtag”) and following all required mandates herein below (“Participant(s))”.

The Contest shall commence on November 28th, 2016 at 1:00 pm Indian Standard Time (“IST”) and will end on November 28th, 2016 at 5:00 pm IST (“Contest Period/Period”).

Principle Rules:
1. To participate in the Contest the Participant(s) shall follow the procedure as detailed below:
a) Participant(s) must be citizens of India and of 18 (eighteen) years of age or above at the start date of the Contest Period. The Participant(s) should not have criminal conviction or an arrangement or a contract that prevents the Participant(s) from participating in the Contest.

b) Employees of and/or consultants of and/or persons hired on contract by Star India and the members of their immediate family members are ineligible from participating in the Contest.

c) All Participant(s) must have a valid Twitter account to be eligible to participate in the Contest. For the sake of clarity, it is hereby agreed to and confirmed by the Participant(s) that the same does not include a Twitter account opened and operated by a family member and/or friend of the Participant(s).

d) The Process of the Contest:
i. Participant(s) are required to share creative and novel jokes as tweets. To qualify, they will need to send in their entries with approximately 140 (one hundred and forty) characters using the Hashtag and tagging the Twitter Handle. (“Entry/Entries”).
ii. Entries submitted without the Hashtag and tagging the Twitter Handle shall be considered null and void.

e) For the avoidance of doubt, for the purpose of calculation of the time period taken by the Participant(s) to publish an Entry, Star India shall rely on the time stamp of such Entry. Star India’s decision in this regard shall be final and binding.

f) It is the sole responsibility of the Participant(s) to ensure that the Entry submitted does not infringe the rights of any third party including rights in any intellectual property and shall be original in form. Duplicate Entries and/or two or more identical Entries shall be disqualified from the Contest.

g) The Participant(s) shall ensure that the Entry is decent and is not immoral, defamatory, abusive, offensive, insensitive, libelous or blasphemous to any person, religious sect or section of the society, defamatory of any person deceased or alive, etc.

h) Each Participant shall follow the Twitter Handle. Failure to comply with the same shall render the Participant(s) Entry invalid.
i) Each Entry shall be judged inter alia, on the basis of its relevancy to the Contest, its originality, uniqueness, innovativeness, quality of writing and creativity. The decision of Star India is final and binding in this regard.

j) At the end of the Contest Period, out of all the Entry/ies received within the Contest Period, Ten (10) Participant(s) whose Entries are valid and compliant on the aforesaid parameters shall be eligible to win the Contest (“Shortlisted Participant(s)”).

2. The Shortlisted Participant(s) will be contacted via Direct Message (“Private Message”) to provide their name, age, email id and phone number (“Contact Details”) to hello@startv.com within 24 hours of such message failing which their Entry shall be invalidated.

3. Upon receipt of the Contact Details, Star India shall contact the Shortlisted Participants via email to submit (including but not limited to) scanned copies of their identity proof, age proof and address proof (eg. Birth Certificate, 10th Class leaving Certificate/ School certificate/ passport/any other valid ID for verification) (“Documents”) within 24 (twenty four) hours of such email.

4. Star India shall make only one (1) attempt to reach the Shortlisted Participants. In case such Shortlisted Participant(s) fails to revert, his/her selection shall be invalidated and Star India shall not be liable to such Shortlisted Participant(s) in any manner whatsoever.

5. Upon verification of the credentials Shortlisted Participant(s) that are in compliance with Terms and Conditions requirements stated herein, shall be contacted via “Direct Message” option on Twitter, informing them that they are the winner(s) (“Winner(s)”). The total number of Winner(s) shall under no circumstances exceed 10 (ten).

6. Communication to the Winner(s) shall be done on or before December 15th, 2016 and the prize will be dispatched to the Winner on or before December 31st, 2016. In case the Winner announcement is postponed and/or or dispatch of the prize delayed for whatsoever reasons, Star India will not be held responsible.

7. The Winner shall each win a Star Movies hamper the value of which shall not exceed Rs. 10000/- [ Rupees Ten Thousand Only] each (“Prize”), The Prize to be awarded to each winners shall be decided at the sole discretion of Star India.
8. Star India shall courier the Prize to Winner(s) on the addresses (in India only) as provided by them on completion of the Contest.

9. After dispatch of the Prize, in case during transit, if any loss/damage etc. is caused / incurred, Star India will not be liable for any such loss/damage etc.
10. Non-conformance by the Participant(s) to any and all the Terms and Conditions herein or as set by Star India from time to time will make such Participant’s Entry(ies) null and void.
