Green Heroes Film Contest :

TERI and the U.S. Consulate in Mumbai have come together to gather stories of unsung Green Heroes from India’s western region. We are looking for young filmmakers, photographers, video editors, writers and activists who can tell powerful stories of individuals or communities, who have done commendable work in protecting the environment in their neighbourhoods or beyond.

Eligibility Requirements:
** Applicants must be 18+
** Applicants with background in environmental studies, mass communication, journalism, photography, filmmaking would be preferred.
** Applicants must be fluent in English or Hindi.
** NGOs/Corporate organisations working in the field of environment and sustainability can nominate professionals from their communication and documentation teams
** There is no entry fee for participating in the storytelling and filmmaking workshops.

How It Works:
The programme has three broad components

1. Selection of Green Heroes:
TERI will identify and select Green Heroes from India’s western region from the entries received through nominations.

2. Filmmaking Workshops:
** TERI will organize two-day-long filmmaking training workshops in five cities, namely Mumbai, Pune, Indore, Ahmedabad and Goa.
** Activists, students of environmental studies, journalism, mass communication, photographers, filmmakers, writers from in and around these cities can apply for participating in the workshops.
** Workshop elements will include instructions on pre-production techniques, including storyboards and scripting, film techniques, and post-production.
** After the workshop, participants will submit films on Green Heroes within a specified timeframe and according to contest guidelines. Participants will be required to submit a minimum of one film for the contest, either individually or in groups.

3. Finale Film Festival:
Post-submission, the top films from each region will be selected by an eminent jury and screened at a film festival held in Mumbai during Earth Month 2017. Winners will be felicitated with prize money at the festival.

Workshops: Mumbai- 13-14 December 2016, Pune- 16-17 December 2016
Awards to be announced: February 2017
Film Festival: April 2017

** First Runner Up 30000 INR
** Second Runner Up 20000 INR
