Attention Creators!!! We are delighted to announce that Chetana Charitable Trust is once more hosting the “National Tactile Book Competition 2017”.
This competition is held in partnership with Les Doigts Qui Rêvent (Dreaming fingers), Talant, France who will host the international competition “Typhlo and Tactus” in October 2017. Our National winning entries will be sent as the official Indian entries to the International Competition.
The international competition is organized once every 2 years to create an awareness of the importance of literacy and the role of accessible and enjoyable reading materials for young children with vision impairment. Interested? Email us at projects@chetana.org.in to register with us.
Eligibility:
Entry to the competition is open to anyone interested in designing and producing a Tactile Illustrated book for children with vision impairment between the age group of birth to 12 years.
The books can be an original creation or an adaptation of an existing commercial book and can be in any language. For ideas on what the competition is looking for in a book, take a tour of the Typhlo and Tactus website www.tactus.org and browse through winning entries of previous years.
For further ideas and deeper insights into how children in India enjoy tactile illustrations, visit the Chetana website www.chetana.org.in The National Competition will be conducted as two rounds, judged by a panel including adults and children with vision impairment and experts in children’s books and publishing.
