These terms and conditions (‘Terms’/’Terms and Conditions’) govern the contest titled ‘Jalsha @ Book Fair 2017’ (‘Contest’) organized, conducted and brought to you by STAR India Private Limited (‘STAR India’) in respect of its Bengali television channel(s) i.e. “STAR Jalsha” “Star Jalsha HD” and “Jalsha Movies” and “Jalsha Movies HD” (‘Channels’).

Viewers of the Channels are invited to take part in the Contest, as per the details set out below. The Contest will open on January 11th, 2017 until February 05th, 2017(‘Contest Period’). The Contest is open for participation by viewers/users of the Channel in the State of West Bengal, India only.

Principal Rules:
1. The Contest will be announced and promoted tentatively starting from January 11th, 2017 through promos on the Channels and uploads/ posts on the respective Channel Facebook Page(s) or any other means at the sole discretion of STAR India, and such promotion will continue tentatively till January 21st, 2017 based on the sole discretion of STAR India.

2. The Contest will be divided into three phases; Phase I, Phase II and Phase III. The first phase (‘Phase I’) –commencing from January 11, 2017 until January 21, 2017: The Viewer(s)/Participants(s) will be asked to send 1 (one) profile picture of themselves ( i.e. close up picture of their face) which best describes their expression of ‘Happiness’(each an ‘Entry’). Each Entry submitted shall consist of 1 (one) Mega Byte or above and in JPEG format only.

3. Phase II:
Commencing from January 22, 2017 until January 24, 2017: Only the Entries received as per the format and specifications stated above during the Contest Period, shall be considered as valid and successful entries for the Contest. STAR India, at its sole discretion, shall select not more than a 100 (hundred) Entries (and/or any other number based on the sole discretion of STAR India during the Contest Period) based on the requirements on a random selection basis from the Viewers who have submitted the valid and correct Entries during the Contest Period.

The 100 selected Entries of the Viewers will subsequently be compiled and displayed as a Photo Grid for display to the public in the Star Jalsha and Jalsha Movies Stall set up at the ‘International Kolkata Book Fair, 2017’(“Stall”) by STAR India, during the Phase III period (defined below).

4. Phase III:
Commencing from January 25, 2017 until February 05, 2017. Only those Viewers/Participants who have submitted their Entries in accordance with these Terms and Phase I of the Contest, shall be eligible participate in Phase III of the Contest and visit the Stall to spot their Entry/image if selected by STAR India.

The selected Entries, shall be on display as a photo grid mounted at the Stall. In the event the Viewers/Participant are able to successfully spot and identify their Entry displayed on the Photo Grid (i.e. their individual winning profile picture), such Participant will be declared a winner of the Contest (“Winner(s)”).

Each Winner shall be entitled to receive 1 (one) STAR India goody bag and/or any other gift(s) as deemed fit by STAR India (“Prize”), which decision shall be final and binding on the Winner(s). The Winner(s) shall also get an opportunity to be photographed at the Stall along with their Prizes by Star India representatives, which maybe used as promotional material by STAR India for its Channels in any medium.

5. For the sake of clarity, STAR India shall select not more than 100 (hundred) Entries on a random selection basis, from the eligible Viewer(s) who have submitted correct and valid Entries received under Phase 1 of the Contest Period and who have adhered to all these Terms herein.

6. Phase I of the Contest will be from January 11, 2017 to 21 January, 2017 (‘Phase I period’); Phase II of the Contest will be from January 22, 2017 to January 24, 2017, (‘Phase II period’); and Phase III of the Contest will be from January 25, 2017 to February 05, 2017 (‘Phase III period’).

7. The Viewer(s)/Winner(s) agree and acknowledges that STAR India is under no obligation to announce, inform and include the name of the Winners/ on its Channels and/or on the Channel’s social media pages during the Contest Period and all such Winner(s) shall be informed individually solely at the Stall by STAR India representatives, subject to the Participant(s) successfully spotting his/her Entry displayed on the Photo grid at the Stall to be considered a Winner of the Contest.

8. Any costs or expenses incurred to participate in the Contest and/or to claim the Prize, if any and as applicable, shall be solely borne by the Viewer(s)/Winner(s) and STAR India shall not be liable for any such costs or expenses.

9. Any Entries registered after the completion of Phase I period or the Contest Period, as the case may be, or beyond the stipulated time, as applicable for the Contest, shall be null and void without requirement of any further intimation by STAR India.
