CBSE & India-Africa Forum Summit 2015 Creative Expression Contest:
The India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS) is a celebration of the close partnership between Africa and India. It is an acknowledgement of our shared history as well as our future prospects. From our struggle against colonialism and apartheid, we have emerged to jointly accept the challenges of a globalizing world.

Even as we combat with common threats – the threat from international terrorism; the challenge of climate change – and collectively promote the socio-economic advancement of all our people, we believe that India and Africa traverse the same path, share the same values and cherish the same dreams. The third edition of the four day IAFS summit will take place during 26th-29th October 2015. It will provide an opportunity to not only reflect on the past, but to define the road ahead in tune with the times we live in.
The Central Board of Secondary Education in collaboration with the India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS), Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, organizes Creative Expression Contest.
The details of this contest are as follow:
Entries are to be submitted in three class categories i.e. Classes I to V, Classes VI to VIII and Classes IX to XII.
Schools shall conduct competition as per the details below from 21st to 28th September, 2015.
Students can express themselves in any of the 22 scheduled languages and English
Types of competition:
1. Classes I to V:
Competition: Painting
Theme : India-Africa Relations
2. Classes VI to VIII:
Competition: Essay (500 words)/ Poem
Theme : Common threads between India and Africa with reference to the History, Culture and Literature
3. Classes IX to XII:
Competition: Essay (700 words)/ Poem
Theme :
Any one of the following:
1. Mahatma Gandhi and Africa
2. Folk Tales and Literature of Africa
3. India-Africa Relations: The way forward.
The schools shall conduct the competition and select the best entry in each category for onward submission to the respective Regional Offices of CBSE.
Each Regional Office will select five best entries in each category and submit them to the Joint Secretary and In-charge (Academic & Training), CBSE.
The winners at the Regional Level in each category will be awarded as follow:
Ist Prize– Rs. 15,000/-,
2nd Prize – Rs. 10,000/-,
3rd Prize – Rs. 7,000/-,
4th Prize – Rs. 5000/-,
5th Prize – Rs. 3,000/-
At the National Level, the prizes in each category shall be as follow:
1st Prize – Rs. 40,000/-,
2nd Prize – Rs. 30,000/-,
3rd Prize – Rs.20,000
Each winner at the Regional Level and the National Level will be awarded a Certificate of Merit.
The winning entries at the Regional Level and the National Level will be displayed in the social media account of India-Africa Forum Summit, Secretariat, Ministry of External Affairs
The final results will be declared by Indo-Africa Forum Summit, Secretariat.
Timeline for the Creative Expression Contest:
** Competition to be conducted by schools: 21st to 28th September, 2015.
** Submission of the best entry in each category to respective Regional Offices CBSE: 29th September to 5th October 2015
** Submission of results by Regional Offices to the Joint Secretary and In-charge, Academic Wing: Latest by 12th October, 2015
** Submission of result by Academic wing to Indo-Africa Forum Summit: 20th October, 2015.
The CBSE schools abroad may submit their entries (by e-mail) to their respective Regional Office of CBSE.
Selection of best entries will be on the basis of originality of content and creative expression. Students shall be contacted telephonically on the phone numbers provided by them to ascertain the originality of the entry submitted. ? The format for submission of entry is given in Annexure1
