Children’s Drawing Contest :

Beautiful Earth. The planet seen from outer space appears almost like a blue jewel. There are so much precious treasures on this Earth. Once lost, the treasures cannot be brought back. Please draw the image you have when you think of the beautiful Earth.

Eligibility : Children aged 7 through 15
Registration Last Date : The application must reach us by May 31, 2017.

Application :
Requirements : Paper size 257×364mm or smaller.
Drawing tools : Draw in free hand with any type of paint, pastel, etc.

Important note:
(a) Please enter necessary information on the application form at the back and attach it to the back of the drawing.
(b) Please be sure that the drawing has been drawn personally and has not been published in other newspapers or magazines.
(c) All materials received will not be returned as a general rule.
(d) All materials received will become the property of JQA and may be used in publications or on the Web for publicity and promotional purposes.
(e) Applications sent in groups, such as a school, should be sent in a single packet.
(f) Please note that drawings with text (such as posters) are not eligible for the contest.

48 winners will receive special memorabilia. All entrants will receive a participation prize. (We plan to send that out about December.)

About the Contest :
Since 1999, Japan Quality Assurance Organization (JQA) and International Certification Organization Network (IQNet) have been hosting the International Environmental Children’s Drawing Contest for children aged 7 to 15 years old from around the world, supported by UNICEF Tokyo Office.

So far, the contest has been held 17 times with over 17,000 entries that this year we’ve had entries from a record breaking 94 countries. In total, we have received more than 255,000 drawings up to now.

Full of imagination and artistic sensitivity, children drew pictures about nature and animals, their families and the surrounding area. The pictures also contain the message towards global environment, beyond borders and difference in their background cultures and languages.

As the organizer, we hope that this contest provides the children an opportunity to think about the global environment, by expressing their inspiration from nature’s bounty. At the same time, we believe that the efforts to protecting the global environment will be further encouraged through the appreciation of such children’s drawings.
