Competition Last Date : 15-10-2015

To participate in Round-2 of the challenge of the smart city contest, a Smart City Proposal will be prepared after taking into consideration aspirations, visions, goals and smart solutions (low cost smart solutions, technology based smart solutions etc.) communicated by the citizens of New Town, Kolkata to make it a better place to live. For further details on Smart Cities Mission, citizens may visit the concerned website of Government of India i.e. smartcities.gov.in

Participation of citizens is invited in every stage of plan preparation as briefed below:

Time schedule:

Round-1
(1) Essay competition (word limit: 1000)
Last date of submission 15-10-2015.

Competition in two categories:
(i) Students,
(ii) Open to all.

Topic:
In English- “What should Smart New Town be like?”

In Bengali:
“Amar Swapner Shahar”

Attractive prizes for best three Essays for each category.

(2) Submission of Statement on Aspiration / Vision Statement / Goal. Last date of submission 15-10-2015.

Attractive prizes for best three Essays for each category.

(3) Smart solutions (PAN City & Area based) from citizen through discussions and receipt of innovative ideas / concept then citizen poll on shortlisted smart solutions. Process will be completed by 31-10-2015.

Round-2:
Draft Pan City proposal & Area Based proposals will be placed in public domain by placing at NKDA’s website and will also be available at the Smart City Help Desk of NKDA inviting comment from citizens. Last date for submission of comments: 10-11-2015.

Round-3:
Final Area based proposal and final PAN City proposal will be placed in public domain on 15-11-2015 in similar way. If citizens want, discussions may be held and comments may be submitted within 20-11-2015.

Final Complete Smart City Proposal will be placed in public domain in similar way. In citizens want, discussions may be held and comments may be submitted within 30-11-2015.
