Suggestion & Ideas For Making Chennai As Smart City 2015:
Corporation of Chennai is preparing a proposal towards Smart City Challenge which would include city wide smart urban solutions as well as identification of areas within the city for its implementation.
The last date to submit your comments is 15th October, 2015.
The proposal would be defined primarily based on voice of Chennai residents. An extensive citizen engagement programme is established by Corporation of Chennai to document the views and concerns for the same.
Residents may post their opinion and ideas on civic services such as transport, parking, water supply, sanitation, energy, housing, IT solutions,health, education, safety and security. Your views, opinion and solutions on urban issues faced by Chennai would not only support a better tomorrow for Chennaites, it will also make Chennai a strong contender for getting shortlisted as one of the first 20 cities in India to implement Smart City Solutions in Phase 1.
Chennai citizen and community is its biggest strength. Let’s participate to make this proposal inclusive and meaningful for every common man, every citizen.
What is needed is clean roads & surrounding. Potholes free roads,streets,lanes & by-lanes.
Why corporation is not taking action on illegal & deviated constructions ? Are we encouraging such activity ? Park town & George town are live example of inaction. What is needed is not debate or talk, but action.
[1] All garbage bin are to be removed from the road and all wastage are to be directly collected from,flats,houses,shops etc by evolving set of guidelines and procedures to ensure the roads are kept clean.
[2] Quality roads are to be laid to ensure the roads withstand monsoon and heavy traffic at least for three years.
[3] quality public toilets at free of cost for use is to be made available
[4] Foot paths are to be laid for safe walk by pedestrians
[5] Signal for pedestrian cross is the need of the hour in crowded streets.
[6] A separate track for cycle for safe ride.
Urgent requirements :
1. water-security from natural resources like CHECK-DAMS IN PALAR IN ABOUT 10 PLACES FROM VELLORE.
2 INTER-CONNECTING THE OVERFLOWING LAKES CAN BECOME THE LIFE LINE INSTEAD OF SEEKING WATER FROM ANDHRA ETC BY SPENDING HUGE AMOUNT W.O ANY CERTAINITY AT ANY POINT OF TIME. SOLAR PANELS ON ALL OPEN RIVER-CULVERTS LIKE COOUM BUCKINGAM CANAL AND ADYAR RIVER.FREQUENT /PERMANENT CONTROL OVER THE RIVERWAYS WOULD DISALLOW PEOPLE THROWING WASTE OR LETTING DRAINAGE ETC.
3. CORRELATE THE HIGH-RISE APARTMENTS WITH THE TOTAL CAPACITY OF THE PIPELINES OF DRINKING WATER,DRAINAGE, AND RAIN WATER LINES.ANY DEVIATION WOULD BE AT THE RISK OF SPOILING ALL FACILITIES TO ALL.
4. PEDESTRIAN PLATFORMS ,CYCLISTS LANES AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT FLOW SHOULD BE SEPERATE AND NOT TO CRISS-CROSS LIKE CHANDHIGAR.
5. EAR MARKED PLACES FOR SHOPPING COMPLEX IS A MUST. NO DEVIATION BY OCCUPYING THE PEDESTRIAN PLATFORMS
6.HEAVY FINE FOR PARKING CARS ETC IN THE LANES,ROADS AND EVEN HIGHWAYS.
7.HEAVY FINE FOR THROWING WASTE IN THE ROAD ,INFRONT OF OTHER MAN’S HOUSE ETC.CELL PHONE PICTURES WITH TIMING SHOULD BE APPROVED BY LAW TO CATCH THE OFFENDERS.
8.AVOID LAND ACQUISITION AS IT WILL SWALLOW ALL MONEY AVAILABLE FOR SMART CITY.
