Quiz Contest :
Every year Quiz Contest is organized at Branch level, Regional level and finally at the All India level covering all the subjects of CA curriculum.

The Board is of the view that by participating in such Contest, students will get motivated to study various subjects in greater detail and thereby it will improve their performance in the examination, apart from improving their ability to give quick solutions to problems.
The broad outline of the scheme of Quiz Contest and guidelines are given below:-
1. Preliminary Round:
The Branches have to initiate the process by inviting the CA students falling within their respective jurisdiction to Quiz Contest. Interested students may be asked to enroll in advance. Depending on the number of students responded, they may be divided into groups.
Each group may consist of two students. The Regional Offices i.e. Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi and Kanpur can also orgnaise under Branch Level.
Guidelines :
(i) Medium of questions in Quiz Contest would be English. However, if any participant wants to speak in Hindi, the option will be given.
(ii) There can be a maximum of 5 teams, each team consisting of two students. If there are more participants the 5 teams have to be selected by a process of elimination.
(iii) There will be eight rounds of Quiz Contest covering the following areas:
** Accounting
** Auditing
** Corporate Laws
** Taxation – Direct and Indirect
** Costing/Management Accounting/Financial Management
** Information Technology
** Economics
** General Awareness
Additionally, there will be a Rapid-Fire Round.
(iv) Three questions will be asked in each round to each team. The students will be given 60 seconds for answering each of the questions.
(v) In each round, the questions will be addressed turn-by-turn to each team. For example, Q. No. 1 will be addressed to Team A. If Team A answers the question correctly, then Q. No. 2 will be addressed to Team B. If Team A does not answer Question No.1 correctly, the question will pass on to Team B.
A question will pass once and there will be no subsequent passing. As usual, the Question No. 2 will be addressed to Team B, the Question No. 3 will be addressed to Team C and so on.
(vi) At the end, there shall be a Rapid Fire Round in which five questions will be addressed to each team. Each team will be given one minute to answer all the five questions instantaneously. Students may choose not to answer a question. There will be no passing in Rapid Fire Round.
(vii) Each question shall carry 5 marks. 2 marks shall be awarded for questions which have been passed.
(viii) Appropriate Computer softwares may be used to manage Quiz, record time and performance of each team. Manual systems may also be used wherein the Quiz Master may use stop clock for the purpose of recording time.
(ix) The Quiz Contest will be conducted by a professional Quiz Master. However, the Quiz Master should not be a person whose articled assistant/relative of the articled assistant/relative of his/her partner is a participant in the Contest.
(x) Prizes and Certificates will be awarded to the winning team and the runner-up team in the concluding ceremony to be organized on the same day. Each Branch and the Regional Office shall select the best team to participate in the Regional Level Contest. The list of the best team so selected should be forwarded to the respective Regional Office on or before August 26, 2017.
Eligible Students :
Students registered with the Institute for Intermediate (IPC) Course, Final Course and are undergoing article/audit training, are eligible to participate in the Contest. Thus, students who have completed articles/audit training are not eligible to participate.
However, a Contestant who has won the Contest at the Branch Level and later passes the Final Examination and also completed articled training shall be eligible to participate in the Regional as well as All India Level Contests.
