Amazon Pen To Publish Contest

Write and publish original and previously unpublished story, poem or novel in English, Hindi and Tamil in any genre and get a chance to win exciting prizes. In order to be eligible, books must be published on KDP between 15 September 2019 and 14 December 2019.

Eligibility

1) The Contest is only open to residents of India, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. Only individuals who are the older of 18 years of age or the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry are permitted to participate.

2) The Contest and these Official Rules are void in Quebec and where prohibited by law and are subject to applicable laws. Entrants may not be a national or legal permanent resident of any of the following countries: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, South Sudan, Syria or Region of Crimea.

3) Entrants may not be members of any guild, union or other organisation that may prohibit them from participating in this Contest and that would restrict, require due payment or otherwise have the right to oppose such entrant’s participation in this Contest.

How To Enter?

Write and publish original and previously unpublished story, poem or novel in English, Hindi and Tamil in any genre and get a chance to win exciting prizes. In order to be eligible, books must be published on KDP between 15 September 2019 and 14 December 2019.

Contest entry period begins at 00:01 IST on 15th September 2019, until 23:59 IST on 14th December 2019.

During the Entry Period, upload and publish to KDP an original, previously unpublished book authored solely by you in the English, Hindi or Tamil languages, and include the exact phrase “pentopublish2019” in the “keywords” metadata field in order for us to identify your Entry.

To upload your title to KDP, you must go to the KDP sign-in page and follow the instructions to set up a KDP account (you may select the language for your region in the upper right corner of the page).

Entry into the Contest also requires that you have an Amazon account, a completed KDP account and you have accepted the KDP Terms of Service and the Terms and Conditions for the KDP Select Program.

Entry Eligibility

** Entries in English should be in any of .doc, .docx, .epub, and pdf formats to be eligible for the Contest.
** Entries for Hindi and Tamil must be in .doc and .docx formats to be eligible for the Contest.

** The Contest will be run in two categories (each a “Category”) for each Entry Language as follows:

** Long Form Category: Entries with a word count of 10,001 words and above will be eligible to compete for the prize for the best long-form Book in any Entry Language (“Long Form”)

** Short Form Category: Entries with a word count between 2,000-10,000 words will be eligible to compete for the prize for the best short form Book in any Entry Language (“Short Form”).

Prizes

Winners will receive the following prizes as specified below

Long Form Cash Prizes :
(i) each Entry Language Long Form Grand Prize winner will receive the Grand Prize of INR 5,00,000;
(ii) each Entry Language Long Form First Runner Up winner will receive the First Runner Up Prize of INR 1,00,000; and
(iii) each Entry Language Long Form Second Runner Up winner will receive the Second Runner Up Prize of INR 50,000.

Short Form Cash Prizes :
(i) each Entry Language Short Form Grand Prize winner will receive the Short Form Grand Prize of INR 50,000;
(ii) each Entry Language Short Form First Runner Up winner will receive the following Short Form First Runner Up Prize of INR 25,000; and
(iii) each Entry Language Short Form Second Runner Up winner will receive the following Second Runner Up Prize of INR 10,000.

Additional Prizes :
Each Winner will receive
(i) a merchandising package on Amazon.in Kindle Store for the winning Book, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion; and
(ii) the opportunity to participate in a mentoring session with a celebrity author selected by Amazon in its sole discretion.

Note :
The Cash Prizes will be paid by way of an account payee cheque or electronically wired to the Winner’s account.
