Tickling your neurons, we challenge you to put your coding and development skills to test. Where and how? Well, of course through the prestigious second edition of SRM Hackathon. Come face to face and solve real world issues ranging from rural development to judiciary to environment.

There are Hackathons popping up all around our locality and beyond our everyday borders trying to solve real world problems. But why us? 3 words – Hackathon Beast Edition. Don’t believe us, then come and see for yourselves. We are back with different tracks, bigger cash prize and much higher standards and we vouch to push that bar even higher into the sky.

Immerse yourself into technology development for a continuous stretch of 36 hours on the 6th and 7th of October 2017. Bring a team of 2 to 5; the coder, the newbie, the guy you convinced with pizza bribes, the dreamer, and the nerd. Come and lose all those labels as you become creators.

SRM Hackathon is about the persistence and determination to be anything but average, and we’ll give you the playground to do it. Pitch your revolutionary solutions to our highly esteemed judges and we’ll make sure that your playtime ends in rewards and glory worth 3 Lakhs!

Phases of SRM Hackathon :
First phase: Submit your solution inline with one of the themes of the Hackathon before 30th September, 2017.
Second Phase: Teams will be shortlisted based on the idea submitted on a continuous basis and a confirmation of the same will be sent to the teams. Submit your ideas early and have higher chances of being shortlisted!
Third phase: Come be a part of the 36-hour National Level Hackathon on 6th and 7th of October, 2017 at SRM University , Kattankulathur Campus, Chennai.

GENERAL RULES :
** The registrants up to the age of 30 years are eligible for participation and prizes. A valid government photo-identification proof is required.
** All code must be written during the event. You are required to build your project from scratch after the commencement of the Hackathon. The first and the last line must be created during the event.
** You can apply as a team of 2-5 members. Individual participation is not allowed.
** Knowledge of GitHub is a pre-requisite for this event. If you’re new to Github, read this getting started guide.
** You may use open source libraries and other freely available systems / services such as Google Maps, Facebook Connect, Twitter feeds etc. You can use any development platform or IDE to write your code.
** The Hackathon will start on 06-10-2017 at 09:00 AM and end on 07-10-2017 at 10:00 PM, you work on your hack during the allotted time only.
** There are six themes of the Hackathon, you must submit a hack that is pertaining to one of these themes.
** Once the Hackathon starts, you will get an option to submit your hack, you can submit as many times as you want, the last hack will be considered as the final submission.
** We welcome attendees from all backgrounds, genders and geographies. This event is about increasing the overall amount of innovation, partnership, and engagement in the developer community.

EQUIPMENT AND COMPONENTS:
** You will need to bring your own PERSONAL LAPTOPS, mobile phones and any other devices with the necessary software. Wi-Fi/LAN connection and tech support for connecting your personal devices to the same would be available.
** You are welcome to bring your own additional components, you foresee the need for it (no pre-assembled modules are allowed). The organizers will not be held responsible for any loss/damage to any property.

FACILITIES AT THE VENUE:
** Food & Beverage facilities will be provided at the venue for all participants.
** Common rooms for relaxation and refreshment will be arranged by the organizers.

DISQUALIFICATION:
** The intellectual property of your code belongs only to your team.

** Copyright violations, cheating, recklessness and endangering others, disrespectful behavior, immoral acts, illegal acts, use of alcohol, tobacco and/or banned substances at the event, being under the influence during the event, etc. are strictly not allowed and will lead to immediate disqualification.

** SRM Hackathon organizers have the right at their sole discretion to determine whether an entrant is eligible for the Contest. SRM Hackathon may disqualify, at organizers’ sole discretion, SRM Hackathon entries (including, without limitation, content submitted in connection therewith) that (a) are in violation of third party rights or law or regulation, (b) use inappropriate or explicit language or images, or display content that SRM Hackathon or Sponsors otherwise find objectionable
