Essay Writing Competition for Mumbai Smart City – Children:
Mumbai invites citizens to participate in essay competition for developing the vision statements for Mumbai Smart City. This essay will focus on the issues faced by the residents of the city, and the likely smart solutions which can address these issues. The entries will help MCGM to develop a vision statement for the city and will also define city sub goals based on it. The participants should focus on the practical, bankable & implementable ideas/solutions related to Smart City which should match the context of the city.
Topic:
The topic of the essay is “Mere sapno ka Shaher Kaisa Ho” (Hindi), City of My Dreams (English), Majhaya Sapanchaya Sheher (Marathi)
The essay should have at least following:-
a) What is your Vision for Mumbai as a Smart City? (maximum 15 words)
b) What are the main area specific problems and what smart solutions you want to recommend?(150 words)
c) What are the main Pan City problems and what pan city based smart solution do you recommend? (200 words)
d) Any global/best practices which can be implemented/replicated in Mumbai? (200 words)
e) How will you contribute to your city as a Smart Citizen? (100 words)
f) Describe 3 ways that the Mumbai cities can reduce the gap between rich and poor.
g) List out 5 essential facilities provided by your local municipal corporation that should be available to all citizen.
How to Submit:
** All the entries must be submitted online through https://www.mygov.in/. No other medium of submission should be accepted.
** Entries may be submitted online on the mygov.in portal latest by 20th October, 2015, 23.59 hours (11.59 PM).
Terms and Conditions:
** Participants must be between 10 to 17 years of age as on 10 October 2015.
** Participants must be citizen of India
** Maximum word limit – 1,000 words
** All the essays must be submitted in .pdf (PDF) format
** Residents can submit their essay in – English, Hindi or Marathi.
** MCGM will have the copyright on all the entries submitted. By submitting an entry, the participant(s) agree(s) to transfer the intellectual property rights to MCGM.
All the participants must clearly mention following details in their essay :
1. Name
2. Father/Mother name
3. Address
4. Age
5. Contact number
Note:
** The winner will be chosen on the basis of brevity, originality of the content and ideas and implementable & bankable action points. The decision of MCGM on selection of first 3 winners and consolation prize shall be treated as final. No plagiarism will be allowed.
** It will be assumed that whoever is participating in the essay has fully understood the general information and terms-conditions given hereby.
** MCGM accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss or injury of any kind suffered by any participant in entering the competition, including as a result of any participant winning or not winning any prize.
** All prizes are non-transferable. Entry Last Date
** Participant should bear a student ID proof of an educational institution. Shortlisted entries would be required to submit a copy of the proof mandatorily and will be disqualified on failing to do so.
** MCGM reserves the right to cancel or amend all or any part of the competition and/or the terms/condition without notice.
Evaluation:
The submission will be evaluated on the following criteria:
** Do-ability (50%)
** Innovation (50%)
The top 3 essays will be awarded :
** 1st Prize – Rs. 5,000 (Five Thousand Rupees only)
** 2nd Prize – Rs. 3,000 (Three Thousand Rupees only)
** 3rd Prize – Rs. 2,000 (Two Thousand Rupees only)
