** DRDO is achieving a historical feat in 2018. The year will be marked by Diamond Jubilee of DRDO, celebrating 60th years of its journey in the service of the nation.

** Share our pleasure and mingle with us by becoming a part of the ‘National Level Essay Competition’ being organized by DRDO.

** The objective of this essay competition is to sensitize and motivate the students of this country towards defence technology along with awareness about the achievements and progress made by DRDO for nation building in the past 60 years in various areas of military technology.

** A total of 60 essays will be selected and all the winners will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 2000 each.

Rules and guidelines :
1. Topic “DRDO: Achievements and Way Ahead”
2. Language: Candidate has to select either Hindi or English as a medium of essay writing.
3. Duration of the Competition: 15th November 2017 to 5th December, 2017

4. Cash Prizes :
** Total 60 essay will be selected for prize distribution and online publication.
** Each winner will be awarded an honorarium cash of Rs.2000 and a certificate.
** Names of the winners will be published on DRDO website.

5. Eligibility:
Category I: Would include Secondary & Senior Secondary recognized School Students i.e. from class 9th to class 12th. (Maximum words 1000)

Category II: Would include Recognized College/ university / institute students pursuing graduation, post-graduation. (Maximum words 2000)
Employees of DRDO are not eligible to participate in this competition.

6. Fee: There is no any national essay competition registration/entry fee.

7. Format of the Essay:
** Font size shall be 12 points (English) in Arial and 12 points (Hindi) in Mangal.
** 1.5 interlinear space
** Margins of one inch on all the four sides

8. Procedures for the submissions of essay :
** The entries can be submitted online on MyGov Website latest by 5th December 2017.

9. Scoring of the essay :
** The essay will be screened and evaluated by a committee constituted by the DRDO and then will be examined by the jury appointed by the DRDO.
** Essays will be assessed on originality of ideas, clarity of the content, sequence of presentation and creative writing skills.
** National winners will be announced in January 2018.

10. DRDO reserves the copyright of the submitted essays and is free to publish or edit essays on its own discretion.
11. Decision of the DRDO in deciding the winner(s) shall be final and binding and NO query, correspondence etc. in this regard shall be entertained by the DRDO.

12. Note :
** Only one essay is allowed per participant either in Hindi or in English.
** Essays incompatible with the above rules and conditions will not be considered.
** Decision of the DRDO shall be final and binding in all the matters of essay competition.
