Presenting the 18th edition of the popular The Hindu Young World Quiz, one of the longest running and largest live school quizzes. The quiz would be hosted as always by The Hindu’s resident quizmaster V.V. Ramanan.

Categories

The quiz contest will have two categories:
Juniors (IV – VI Std) and Seniors (VII – IX Std).

Juniors (IV – VI Std) & Seniors (VII – IX Std) :
Coimbatore, Madurai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Vizag, Vijayawada, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai

Only Seniors (VII – IX Std) :
Trichy, Mangaluru, Hubbali, Kozhikode, Salem

Prizes

Prizes (Category-wise):
** 1st to 3rd – Trophy + Certificate
** 4th to 6th – Consolation Shield + Certificate

Terms

** A team should consist of two members and any bonafide team from a school can take part by registering online and paying a non-refundable fee of Rs. 200 per team
** The team members should be from the same school/branch. No cross teams allowed.
** The registration would have to be completed 2 days before the schedule of quiz
** The quiz would be two-tiered: Common written preliminaries and an on-stage Final for the Top 6 teams (based on the marks scored in the prelims).
** The other audience are eligible for other prizes for every right answer asked to them
** The organiser’s decision on any matter pertaining to the quiz would be final and binding. The organisers can amend the eligibility and rules of participation as deemed fit.
** Children of employees’ of KSL are not eligibile.

About Contest

V.V. RAMANAN, your host for 18th edition of The Hindu Young World Quiz, has been fascinated with facts and trivia for as long as he can remember and been quizzing for more than three decades now.

The resident quizmaster at The Hindu, Ramanan conceived the live, multi-city The Hindu Young World Quiz in 2000 and has been hosting it since then. Popularly known as Ramana in the quizzing circuit, he has won many a top prize at myriad types of quizzes across the country

He wrote the much-appreciated weekly quiz column for The Hindu Young World for nearly 15 years. He also writes quizzes across other publications from the reputed media house.

A regional finalist in BBC’s Mastermind India and part of an expert ‘Triguni’ panel in Kaun Banega Crorepati, Ramanan has helped conduct quizzes at various forums. He has authored three books (The Hindu Young World Quiz Book Vol. 1 & 2 and The Penguin India Quiz Book) for the Penguin Group. A man of varied interests, Ramanan works as a Deputy Editor on the Sports Desk at The Hindu.
