“SHORT TAKES” Season 8 is a short film contest organised by Pocket Films in association with Indian Film Festival, Stuttgart, Germany.

Content/Films Terms

** Short Films (No documentaries)
** Produced in India or by an Indian or having a reference to India
** Short Films completed after 1st July 2017
** The film shall not be more than 15 minutes in duration, including the beginning and end credits.
** The films may be in their original language but MUST be subtitled in ENGLISH.
** Films should have subtitles in English. We recommend subtitles be submitted in .srt format.
** Films submitted previously to this festival will not be considered for this contest.
** The films may be shot in any format. However, the recommended ratios are: 16:9 / 16:9 Full Height Anamorphic DV / HDV.
** The recommended video files formats are VOB, MPG, MPEG4 or AVI.

In making your Film, you must have
(1) Obtained appropriate releases for every person who appears recognizably in your Film;
(2) Obtain appropriate releases for those locations that appear recognizably in your film and require releases;
(3) Obtained appropriate releases from producers, right-holders and/or co-producers

Participation Terms

** The Participant, hereby represents and warrants as under
** The Participant hereby confirms that he/she/it is the owner and has the necessary rights to submit the entry by accepting the terms and is solely responsible for the same.
** The Participant confirms that the content, in full or part, does not violate the copyright of any third party.
** The Participant indemnifies the Pocket Films against any claims regarding the said film submitted herein.
** The Participant confirms that he/she is 18 years of age as on 23rd February 2018.

Special Submission – No Entry Fees
Regular Submission – Entry Fee of Rs. 2,000 (US$ 30)

How To Participate?

To submit your entries, Just follow the steps mentioned below

Step-1: Go to the official website of “Pocket Films” through URL https://pocketfilms.in/

Step-2: You can find the “Short Takes 8” contest link under the “Contest” menu. Click on the “Short Takes 8” link.

Step-3: Then click on the “Participate Now” link to submit your entries.

Step-4: You have 2 options to participate in the contest
a) Special Submission
b) Regular Submission

Step-5: Click on the “Special Submission” link , if you are a special participants (or) If your option is “Regular Submission” then click on the relevant link.

Step-6: Then enter the following Film Information like Name of the Film, Genre, Duration, Original Language, Subtitles, Month/ Year of Production, Shooting Format and Original Aspect Ratio etc.

Step-7 : Upload the Subtitle File by selecting the “Select Files” option.

Step-8 : Click on the “Next” button for further steps to submit your entries.

Please Note For Regular Submissions:
After submitting the film under this option, if the fees are not paid in entirety by the due date, Pocket Films reserves the right to either reject the film or accept the film with the option to distribute.

Prizes/Winners

** The winner of the Short Takes 8 contest will be invited to the Indian Film Festival Stuttgart
** The Top 3 films will get a Walk-In entry to compete for the prestigious “German Star of India Best Short Film Award” carrying a prize of € 1,000*
** The Top 3 films will be screened at the Indian Film Festival, Stuttgart in July 2018.
** The Top 3 Films will also get a certificate.
