Moviebuff First Clap Contest

Moviebuff presents First Clap, a short film contest for aspiring filmmakers to showcase their creations.

Who Can Participate?

** Indian Citizen residing in India.
** Anyone who have completed 18 years of age.

Contest Period

The Contest commences from 8.00 AM, 20th Jan 2018 and closes on 17th March 2018 .

How To Participate?

To participate, you will need a Little Shows account. If you are not a registered user, then follow the steps to register and submit your movie.

Step-1 : Go to the link https://littleshows.com/
Step-2 : Click on the ‘Register’ link.

Step-3 : Enter your Personal Details like Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Role and your Contact Details like Mobile Number and Email. Then create a New Password and re-enter the same Password in the space provided.

Step-4 : After submitting the details, Click on the ‘Submit’ button to complete your registration

Step-5 : Click on the Login link and then enter your Registered Email and Password created by you at the time of registration in the space provided.

Step-6 : To Add your Film, Click on the ‘Upload Movies’ link available at your profile page (or) Click on the ‘Add Shortfilm’ link.

Step-7 : Enter the YouTube URL and click on the Go button to submit your movies.

Step-8 : Finally submit your movie by providing details about your film, cast & crew information and a short synopsis.

Step-9 : If you want to update your contact details (or) modify your details, then you can use the “Edit Your Profile’ option.

All About Your Film

** Only one registration and uploading of one Film is permitted per Contestant.
** The Film shall be in Tamil language.
** The Film shall not exceed 3:15 minutes (three minutes and fifteen seconds) in length
** The submitted film should not be published /showcased in any other platform/contest.
** The contestant should upload the content on the Youtube as a private video and give access to contest@moviebuff.com email id.
** The Film should be in the following file formats: Formats

Selection Process

** The shortlisted films will be published on the www.moviebuff.com and the public will be invited to participate in the voting process.
** There is no option for the public to cast negative votes.
** Based on the votes received by each of the shortlisted contestants, five finalists will be shortlisted by Moviebuff.
** The top five films will get a chance to be screened in select Qube network theatres across the state of Tamil Nadu.
** The films to be screened in a specific theatre and/or the Qube network of theatres shall be at the sole discretion of Moviebuff.
** Theatres will be divided into five groups. Each group of theatres will play a chosen film once per week for a total period of five weeks.
** Moviegoers will then be invited to vote for their favourite film by either SMS voting or via apps.
** The film with the highest score (which shall be based on the number of public votes and the scores awarded by the panel of eminent jurists) will be declared as the winner of Moviebuff First Clap.

Prizes

The top-three films will be awarded cash prizes.

** Winner: 3,00,000
** First runner-up: 2,00,000
** Second runner-up: 1,00,000

All three winners will be given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to narrate a script to Suriya’s 2D Entertainment.

The Grand Finale

** The shortlisted 5 Contestants’ Film will compete for the top position in the Grand Finale.
** The top five films will get a chance to be screened in select Qube network theatres across the state of Tamil Nadu.
** The films to be screened in a specific theatre and/or the Qube network of theatres shall be at the sole discretion of Moviebuff.
** Theatres will be divided into five groups. Each group of theatres will play a chosen film once per week for a total period of five weeks.
** Moviegoers will then be invited to vote for their favourite film by either SMS voting or via apps.

Video/Audio Format

For YouTube Upload:
Video: MP4 H.264
Audio: AAC Audio
Or any other format supported by YouTube

For Digital Theatrical Playback:
Video Format:
** The Frame rate should be 24fps.
** Frame size: 1920*808 (letterboxed with 136 pixels of black on top and bottom for a 2.35:1 Scope Aspect Ratio).
** In case of the content being shot on flat with 1.77 / 1.85:1 then the content may have to be in 1920*1080 full range without any letterboxing of black on top and bottom.
** The above content can be given on a Panasonic D5 tape or a 10 bit DPX Sequential file.
** For DI movies, submissions will be accepted in the format mentioned below.
** The output can be a 10bit DPX / 16bit TIFF or a 12 bit J2C Sequential file.

Audio Format:
** The Frame rate should be 24fps
** Individual mono Wave files (from authorized studios only)
** Your source to Qube Hard Drive needs to be either in EXT2 or EXT3 File Formats only.
