All India Essay Contest 2015:
On the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee celebration of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC), one of the R&D units of the Department of Atomic Energy, invites essay as per the following details from any Indian national of age group between 18-22 years.

Topic: “Nucleus for the Nation”

Last date of submission: July 12, 2015.

Age criterion: Age of the author should be between 18 and 22 years, as on July 12, 2015.

How to participate:
The entire essay, not exceeding 1000 words(text-only format, no figure / picture will be allowed), should be sent as an email attachment to the email address: nsday@vecc.gov.in

The essay can be written in any of the three languages, English, Bengali or Hindi. Scan copy (in pdf format) of the handwritten essay can also be sent to the above mentioned email address.The candidate should also send the scan copy of his/herphoto ID proof and age proof to the above email address while submission of the essay. Without these documents, entry will be cancelled. Each entry should not have more than one author.

Mode of selection:
After initial screening and evaluation, the names of the shortlisted candidates will be uploaded in the website of VECCon July 16, 2015.

The shortlisted candidates will be invited to VECC, Kolkata, on July 28, 2015, for an oral presentation of their essay and an interaction session in front of a panel of judges.

Those selected for oral presentation in Kolkata shall be eligible for:
(i) To and fro AC 3-Tier rail fare by the shortest route
(ii) Boarding and lodging in the guest house will be provided free of cost only to the shortlisted candidates during the authorized period of stay.

Please note that any claim for reimbursement of the rail fare for journey performed by Rajdhani/August-Kranti/Shatabdi Express will be restricted to AC 3-Tier by ordinary Express/Mail train.

Prizes:
Prizes will be distributed on July 28, 2015, after the oral presentations. The first three best essays (first, second and third) will be selected for prizes. There will be participation prizes and certificates to all who make the oral presentation.
