K-pop is a musical genre originating in South Korea that is characterized by a wide variety of audiovisual elements.

Although it comprises all genres of “popular music” within South Korea, the term is more often used in a narrower sense to describe a modern form of South Korean pop music covering mostly dance-pop, pop ballad, electronic, rock, hip-hop, R&B, etc.

First gaining popularity in East Asia in the late 1990s, K-pop entered the Japanese music market towards the turn of the 21st century. In the late 2000s, it grew from a musical genre into a subculture among teenagers and young adults of East and Southeast Asia. Currently, the spread of K-pop to other regions of the world, via the Korean wave can be easily seen, in India.

Due to the persistent efforts of Korean Cultural Centre, K-pop which forms the integral part of the current Korean Culture has marked its success and popularity in India during the K-pop festival held back in 2012 and 2013. Now K-Pop – short for Korean Pop – is a genre of music that the Indians are finding attractive. For other Indians, Psy and his iconic Gangnam Style worked as an initiation into the genre, so much so that even in a Punjabi wedding in North India, you see people grooving to the beats of the song.

Korean Cultural Centre in association with their partners brings you this opportunity to be the part of this big festival to be held again this year.

Rules and Regulations for Uploading Video:

Dance:
1. 1 song preferred/maximum 2 songs allowed merging
2. Late entry will be disqualified.
3. Videos must be in full view of dance members.
4. Duration of the Video should be maximum 5 minutes.
5. Within 4 – 8 members “preferred” in a team.
6. Video and sound clarity.
7. The videos must not contain any obscene, provocative, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content will be disqualified.

Song:
1. 1 song preferred/maximum 2 songs allowed merging.
2. Late entry will be disqualified.
3. Sound/Voice should not be edited. Home videos preferred.
4. Duration of the Video should be maximum 5 minutes.
5. Maximum 4 members allowed for the song category.
6. Video and sound clarity.
7. The videos must not contain any obscene, provocative, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content will be disqualified.

Online entry selection criteria:

*Only 10 participants from each Zone will be selected (5 Singers + 5 dance team)

*Cover Dance 90% imitation and 10% Freestyle of your favorite Korean pop band

Choreography (composition, Uniformity) – 4 pts
Presentation– 3 pts
Stage Presence- 3 pts
Extra points for outstanding performance.

Song: 10 (full marks)
*Cover Song 90% and 10% Freestyle of your favorite Korean pop band.

Voice ability- 5 pts
Presentation & pronunciation- 3 pts
Stage Presence – 2 pts
Extra points for outstanding performance.

*Other Option : Combined Dance and song performance. Marks will be the same as above.

Important:

For the Final Round the song track of both song and dance Team should remain same in the Final Round as it was in the preliminary round however some minor modification in the performance is allowed.
