ICICI direct StockMIND Competition

StockMIND 7 is an annual, nationwide virtual stock market competition for college students. StockMIND 7’s real-world trading environment helps you sharpen your analytical, decision making and quick thinking skills.

StockMIND aims to provide students a platform to develop and sharpen skills that are highly valued in any industry. They might choose to make their careers in equity markets.

How To Register?

** SMS ‘ICFL <Group Code*><Email ID>’ to 9215676766. The email ID you send through SMS will be your User ID
** Your password will be sent to your registered email ID
** Visit virtualstocks.icicidirect.com and login with your user ID and password
** Fill in your details and submit the form
** Start competing from T + 1** day!

Competition Rounds

College Round

Compulsory Round – Cash and Margin:
In this round, students from a particular college will compete with each other to qualify for the National Round. The below grid will be followed to decide how many participants will go into the National Round

Competition Rules:
** The competition shall be active for 7 trading days during market hours (9:15 am – 3:30 pm). A trading day is defined as a day on which both, the NSE and the BSE are open for trading
** At the start of the contest, ` 15 lakh of virtual money will be allocated to each participant.
** The participant with the highest Net Worth (cash in hand + value of stocks held) at the end of 7 trading days will be the winner. Similarly, the next two participants will be the first runner-up and second runner-up respectively
** Cash and Margin segments will be enabled for this contest
** Participants may execute intraday (margin) as well as buy and hold stocks

Qualifying Criteria for the Winner:
** The minimum presence required is in 5 stocks (shares of 5 different companies)
** The minimum number of trades required to qualify for the competition is 10
** Participants will be allowed to trade only in the top 100 NSE stocks and top 100 BSE stocks

Please Note:
A ‘trade’ means an executed order. For example, if a participant buys 100 shares of ABC Ltd., it will be considered as 1 trade. If the same participant sells 100 shares of ABC Ltd., it will be considered as another trade. This effectively means that by buying and selling 100 shares of ABC Ltd., the participant has completed two trades.

Daily Turnover Restrictions:
Participants MUST restrict their trading turnover to less than or equal to ` 3 crore. Turnover means the sum total of all the transactions executed on a particular trading day. This includes shares bought and sold on the same day, or shares sold on the current day which were purchased on some other trading day.

One-time Deviation:
One error in terms of higher turnover from participants will be allowed. However, the maximum excess turnover should NOT be more than ` 50 lakh. This means that if a participant does a turnover of up to Rs. 3.5 crore on any day of the contest.

It will be considered as a one-time deviation and the participant will not be disqualified. In the event that a participant exceeds the turnover of ` 3.5 crore, he/she will be disqualified from the contest, even if it is for the first time.

National Round

All students eligible for the National Round will compete with each other to win this round. This round will be played in March 2018, and the competition will be for Equity – Cash and Margin (for details & rules, refer to the ‘College Round’ section). All qualified participants will be contacted shortly before the commencement of the National Round.

General Rules:
** The participant must establish the credentials as and when asked during the contest or at the time of declaring the final results
** None of the accidental or unintentional trades will be reversed by ICICI Securities
** ICICI Securities will not be held responsible for technical issues and non-availability of the trading platform at any time during the contest period
** Participants will be solely responsible for the trading hours / days lost for non-availability of a trading platform due to the User ID being locked, unlocking of User ID / Password or any other such activity
** ICICI Securities reserves the sole and absolute right to alter the rules if required, to suit the competitive spirit of the contest
** In case of any disputes, the decision of ICICI Securities will be final and binding on all the participants
** ICICI Securities reserves the sole and absolute right to change the prizes at any given point of time
** ICICI Securities and its associates can call, SMS or email participants, even if they are registered under DNC
** Photographs, videos or films of participants taken during the event can be used for any legitimate purposes by ICICI Securities
** All prizes will attract deduction of tax at source, as per Section 194B of the Income Tax Act 1961 or as applicable from time to time
** The amount allocated to each participant is purely virtual and cannot be liquidated into real money. Any profit or loss made in this game is virtual and only for the purpose of the competition
** You hereby agree and understand that StockMIND is a game which will be played on a virtual trading platform

Declaration of the Winner:
** Participants must use only one User ID. If it is found that a particular participant is using more than one User ID, the participant will be disqualified and will not be eligible for any prizes or certificates
** The selection of winners will be based on their Net Worth (market value of stocks + available cash limit), where the closing prices of stocks will be considered as the market value
** In case of a tie, the participant with the higher number of trades will be declared the winner
** The decisions of ICICI Securities will stand undisputed and binding
