EFFI-CARs 2016:
The EFFI-CARs is a unique platform for engineering students to put their learning into practical purposes. The event is aimed at designing and fabricating a 2 seater, 4-wheeled, electric powered vehicles. The vehicle should be able to negotiate the day-to-day city road conditions while keeping the passengers’ and pedestrians safe.

The objective of the event is to promote environmental sustainability by creating innovative mobility solutions. The teams of 7-10 engineering students are tasked with fabricating the economic electrical vehicles with low fabricating, maintenance and running cost. The event will gauge the capability of vehicles on various commercial and design aspects through a series of static and dynamic tests.

The Dates of the Virtual Round have been finalized. The Virtual Round will be held from 18 July 2015 to 28 July 2015. The slots for individual teams will be allotted after the registrations get over. Keep following the website for more information.

What is EFFI-CARS?:
EEFI-CARS is a unique platform for engineering students to put up their learning in practical purposes. The students have to design and fabricate a 2 seater, 4 wheeled vehicle which is fully electric driven.

But how is it different from other events?:
The objective of Effi-Cars is to create a practical city vehicle which could be used for day to day commutation whereas vehicles fabricated in most of the other events are for competition purposes only.

Who are eligible to participate in the event?:
Both under graduate (U.G.) as well as post graduate (P.G.) students can participate in the event.

What is the team member limit? Is faculty advisor included in the team size?:
A team can have minimum 7 members and maximum 10 members excluding the faculty advisor. The faculty advisor is not included in the team size.

Are passed out students eligible to participate?:
The students who have passed out cannot participate in the event. But they can come along as a technical alum. They cannot mend or drive the vehicle.

Our college has not allowed us to participate in more than 2 events due to lack of funds. What do we do now?:
You can participate in virtual rounds of all the events and then proceed forward with the ones in which you advance to mains.

What should we do if our college refuses to reimburse our expenses for fabrication/participation?Teams are encouraged to design and fabricate an economical vehicle which is durable and efficient. If funds are a concern, you should look for sponsorship of your vehicle from medium to large scale businesses.

Are multiple entries from one college allowed?:
Multiple teams from the same college can register for the virtual round but maximum one team per college will be allowed to compete in the main event as based on the best performance in qualifying round.

Can one student participate be a part of more than one team?:
One student can be a part of one team only.

What is the fee for the virtual round?:
The fee for virtuals is INR 5000.

What is the criterion for evaluation for the virtual round?:
The format for the reports will be uploaded SOON.

What is the date for final event?:
The main event is scheduled for January 2016. The exact dates will be announced after the virtuals.

What is the fee for the final event?:
The fee for final event is INR 15000.

What is the venue of the main event?:
The main event will be organized at: University Institute Of Engineering And Technology, Panjab University, Sector -25, Chandigarh

Is the driving license compulsory for team drivers?:
Team drivers must hold a valid, government issued 2W/4W driver’s license at the time of the main event.

What are the specifications of the vehicle?:

Can manual power be used in running the vehicle?:
The vehicle should run solely on electric power.

Only final year students can participate in the HR meet.
