Inter-School Folk Songs & Dance Competition 2015-16 :

Inter-school polk-Songs & Folk Dance Competition for the year 2015-16 from ’14th December to 22nd December, 2015 at 9.00 a.m. AIl the Heads of Schools are, therefore, requested to bring the contents of this circular into the notice to the desirous students so then they Gill participate in the above said competition.

Applicable For : 6th to 12th Standard Students

Rules For Folk Songs :

1. The Competiton will be held separately for Junior and Senior groups of students.
2. Each school will be allowed to send one Junior and one Senior team consisting of upto two members and each member of the team will be required to present his/her song separately
3. The members of Junior team will be form 6th to 8th stanoarc and those of senior learn from 9th to 12th std.
4. Tile competition will be held first at District level followed by the State level in which the students securing top three positions are allowed to participate
5. Each student wlli be given 3-5 minutes to present his/her song
6. Only upto three traditional musical instruments will be allowed.
7. No electronic musical instrument will be allowed.
8. The students securing 1st, 2nd and Illrd positions at the District level will be given, besides cash prize of Rs.1000/-, Rs.900/- and Rs.800/- a memento and a certificate respectively. The correspondting cash prize at the State level will be Rs 1500/-, Rs 1200/- and Rs.1000/- respectively.

Rules For Folk Dances – Gidha & Bhangra :

1. The competition wiil be held separately for Junior and Senior groups of students
2. Each school will be allowed to send one Junior and one Senior team
3. The students of Junior teem will be from 6 to 8th standard and those or senior team from 9th to 12th std.
4. The duration of the dance will be 10-12 minutes.
5. Maximum number of participants in these dances will be 12 and minimum 10 !including singers
6. The Dhol & Dholki player Will be extra person
7. The wording of the songs should not to vulgar and indecent.
8. In each group of Senior and Junior students Gidha and Bhanqra teams, there will be prizes for teams qualifying at the district level as well as at the stale level competition in the form of trophies – one each for the winner team and other for the runner-up team.

Note:
The schools which had demanded coach from Punjabi Academy are requested that they must participate in Folk Songs & Dances Competition.
