YuppTV Short Film Contest 2015 :

YuppTV – One of the World’s Largest Online TV Streaming Service, is pleased to announce the launch of its First Short Film contest. Have you ever made a short film? Are you planning to make one? YuppTV invites filmmakers from across India to showcase their work and compete with their counterparts through this contest.

The online voting will take place between 13th December 2015 and 18th December 2015 (upto 5 pm)

** Short film can be in any language across any genre, Subtitled in English
** Jury : Anurag Kashyap, Ketan Mehta, Sudhir Mishra
** The work of top 20 filmmakers will be showcased on YuppTV.
** Winners can walk home with cash prizes worth Rs.5 lac.

What We Want :
Short Films of duration not more than 30 minutes, (including title & end credits). NO DOCUMENTARIES PLEASE.

Eligibility Criteria For Participation :

** The Participant should be over 18 years of age as on 15th November 2015
** Any person(s) who are under any contractual or other obligation that would prohibit them from allowing YuppTV and/or Pocket Films to license the entry, as per the terms and conditions mentioned herein, in all media formats and uses, are also ineligible to enter this contest.

Prizes :

** The Top 5 films will receive a cash prize of Rs. 1 lac each.
** Winning films will be screened on the show ‘Prime Talkies with Pocket Films’ on NDTV Prime (Conditions Apply).
** All participating entries will be released on yupptv.in and thereafter on other distribution platforms by Pocket Films. The participants will be entitled to a share in revenue generated by distribution on YuppTV platform and other platform by Pocket Films.
** One person from each winning film team (preferably the Director) will be required to make themselves available for the award event tentatively scheduled on fourth week of December or on such other date as may be decided by the Organisers at Mumbai. If the winner is not a resident of Mumbai they will be provided / reimbursed travel (economy class return air tickets from their destination in India as mentioned in the entry form) and hospitality (for 1 night) in Mumbai by YuppTV.

** The contest will be open from 23rd November 2015
** The last date for submission is 11th December 2015
** The award event is scheduled in the fourth week of December 2015

The Contest Process :

** After receiving the entries the pre-jury shall short list upto 20 films for online voting and adjudication by the grand jury, by 12th December 2015
** The 20 films will be made available for online voting either on YuppTV.in or YuppTV’s Facebook page. The online voting will be open from 13th December – 18th December 2015 (5 pm).
** The 5 winners will be selected on the basis of Jury ratings (70% weightage) and online voting (30% weightage). The online ratings will be a combination of number of likes, views and comments received by each film.

The Content :

** The films shall not be more than 30 minutes in duration, including the beginning and end credits. Films exceeding this time limit are liable to be rejected.
** The films can be in any language and any genre but should be subtitled in ENGLISH. Films without subtitles are liable to be rejected.
** The films may be shot in any format. However, the recommended aspect ratios are: 16:9 / 16:9 Full Height Anamorphic – in DV / HDV.
** The recommended video files formats are VOB, MPG, MPEG4 or AVI.
** In making your Film, you must have (1) obtained appropriate releases for every person who appears recognizably in your Film; (2) obtain appropriate releases for those locations that appear recognizably in your film and require releases. You will retain any such releases and provide them to the organisers upon request.
** The Film must not infringe any copyright works belonging to third parties unless (1) you have a license to use such works in the Film; or (2) the use your Film makes of such works is a fair one under the copyright laws. You will retain any licenses and provide them to organisers upon request.

The General Terms of Participation :

** Participation to the contest implies that the Participant is the owner / rights holder of the content and / or is absolutely authorised to participate in the contest by accepting these terms and conditions.
** Only the person who signs / submits the entry will be considered as the “Participant”. In case it is a team effort, then the team will have to select a representative who will be the participant. All communications from our end as well as the benefits, if any, will be only with/to the Participant.
** Transfer, assignment or substitution of the prizes / benefits to a person other than the participant, will not be permitted. However, in exceptional cases the organizers reserve the right to entertain such request at their discretion.
** The decision of the jury / Organizers shall be final, unquestionable and binding on all participants.
** The Organizers may reject any film without assigning any reason whatsoever and the same cannot be challenged.
** Once submitted the entries cannot be withdrawn for any reason whatsoever.
** All materials, documents, etc. submitted for participation shall not be returned under any circumstances and shall become the property of the Organizers.
