Student Innovation Competition :

It gives me immense pleasure to invite the students of all National Institutes of Technology to participate in the Inter NIT Student Innovation Competition – 2016 at National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand.

This annual competition is to motivate the young minds of the NITs towards Innovation by showcasing their vision of developing something which is futuristic and out of the box.

In order to encourage these young minds we associated few awards with the competition which are:
** First Prize : Rs. 1,00,000/-
** Second Prize : Rs. 50,000/-
** Third Prize : Rs. 25,000/-

The pamphlet, registration form, and rules and regulations for the competition are attached along with. You are requested to provide wide publicity for the success of the competition.

There can be multiple entries from your Institution. Top 10 entries amongst all NITs will be invited to National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand to demonstrate and present their work and will be given a certificate. The TA/DA of at most 2 candidates per entry will be borne by our Institute as per our Institute norms. Remaining candidates of the selected group will bear their own travel expenses, however, their registration fee of the Institute Technical Festival will be borne by our Institute. The Technical Festival this year is likely to include Adventure Sporting events like River Rafting, Mountain Treks, and Skiing.

All the participants must be Bonafide B.Tech./M.Tech. students of a NIT, on roll in January 2016. The proposal submitted by the participants must be their original work duly certified by Director/Registrar/Dean/HoD of the Institute.

Rules and Regulations :

1. No restriction on the number of entries per student/group of students per Institute.
2. The entries should reach NITUK by 15/01/2016.
3. Entries are acceptable only if certified by the Institute on the registration form submitted. No other certificate shall be accepted.
4. A list containing the names of the student participant’s members of the group must be attached along with the registration form. Even if the entry is of a single individual then also the list containing his/her name should be attached. All the students whose names are present in the list must be Bonafide students of the Institute on roll in January 2016. The list must be signed by all the students of the group. This list cannot be altered at any later stage after submission of the complete registration form.
5. The certificate can be issued by Director/Registrar/Dean/HoD of the Institute.
6. An Award Committee comprising of Professors from IITs/NITs other than NITUK shall asses the innovation to finalize top 10 on the basis of the write-up.
7. Top 10 entries from amongst submitted, shall have to demonstrate their work at NITUK on 19/02/2016.
8. From amongst the demonstrated entries only, First, Second and Third prizes will be awarded by the judges on the basis of write-up, model presentation & personal interview. Where model is not required, there 2 posters of A1 size shall be required to be displayed.
9. NITUK shall bear the travel expenses by bus/sleeper class train & local hospitality for maximum 2 participants of an entry for all the top 10 innovations which are invited for demonstrations, for other members of the top 10 groups whose names are listed in the registration form will not be given TA/DA.
10. In addition to this, all members of the group who are listed in the registration form, the Institute shall bear the registration fee of the Technical Festival of the Institute which is likely to include Adventure Sporting events like River Rafting, Mountain Treks, Skiing.
11. The award will be declared on 21/02/2016.
12. Institute reserves the right not to give any award if none of the entry qualifies as an innovation. The decision of judges in this matter shall be final & binding on all the participants.
13. The last date of an entry shall not be extended under any circumstances.
14. Students can send the scanned copies of all filled forms & certificate from the Institute by e-mail at innovation.nituk@gmail.com before 05:30 pm on 15/01/2016. Institute should receive the hard copies of e-mailed documents in original on or before 25/01/2016 by 05:30 pm.
15. Entries by email which are received by the Institute after 05:30 pm on 15/01/2016 shall be summarily disqualified.
16. The entries which are received on 15/01/2016 before 05:30 pm by email but the hard copy is not received before 25/01/2016 by 05:30 pm shall be summarily disqualified.
