Badami Heritage Festival International Photography Competition 2015:
In the backdrop of the Badami Heritage Festival an International Photography Competition ‘Capture Bagalkot’ is being organised by Catalytic Think Tank Forum. Catalytic is on quest to evolve a ‘Bagalkot District Strategic Development Plan 2020’. Various initiatives to boost tourism in the district which mainly revolves around Badami, Pattadakkal, and Aihole are being taken up. Plans are being drawn to transform Badami into one of the finest world heritage cities in India.

Photographs could be of the Rich Heritage Monuments, Landscapes, Rivers & Backwaters, Wildlife, Arts and Craft, Culture & Lifestyles and of the People of the District.

Internationally renowned photographers Clare Arni, Nathaniel Gaskell, Dominic Sansoni and Selva Prakash are the Jury members. The competition would be launched on 10th November 2014 and will close on 30th November 2015.

Jury Members:
Clare Arni is a photographer based in Bangalore, India. Her work encompasses architecture, social documentary and cultural heritage. She has been published by leading British book publishers Phaidon, Thames and Hudson and Dorling Kindersley. Her solo photographic books document the history of the architecture of Banaras, Palaces of the Deccan, the recent excavations of Hampi, the capital of the Vijaynagar Empire and a four month journey along the course of the river Kaveri. Her work has been exhibited Internationally at the Essl Museum, Vienna Austria, Grosvenor Vadehra, London, Bose Pacia, New York, Berkeley art museum, California and is the permanent collection of the Saatchi Gallery, London, the Freer/Sackler gallery of the Smithsonian Institute, Washington and Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.

Nathaniel Gaskell is a curator and Director at Tasveer. He holds a degree in Photography from the AIB, UK and a Masters in Cultural Studies from the London Consortium. He has published several essays and articles on photography in India, is a nominator for the Prix Pictet photography prize, and on the judging panel for the TFA photography prize.

Dominic Sansoni has been a professional photographer for over thirty years with an emphasis on documentary and travel assignments. His work captures the quintessential Sri Lankan images of architecture, festivals and public and domestic spaces, to showcase the breadth and richness of cultural heritage and contemporary lives on the island nation. He has studied Creative Photography at West Surrey College of Art & Design, UK.

Selvaprakash is a Photographer and Visual Journalist based on Bangalore. His Photograph have been Published in Timeout, Asia Geo, New Internationalist and many others. He had exhibitions worldwide Including Noorderlicht ,The San Francisco Arts Commission (SFAC) Gallery, Singapore Photo festival ,Lagos Photo festival, Delhi Photo festival, United Art Fair and many others. He studied M.A in Mass communication at Manonmaniam Sundaranar University,Tirunelveli.

Presentation Format:
Electronic submission of maximum 3 photographs

Terms and Conditions:
** Registration fees of Rs.500/- payable by cheque, DD in the name of ‘Catalytic Think Tank Forum, Bangalore’
** Images are to be uploaded to the competition website by 10th February 2015. No late entries accepted.
** Images should not be Photo-shopped.
** Entrants can submit maximum of 3 images for Competition/Exhibition.
** Images should be in digital format.
** Entry photographs can be either in B/W or Color.
** No names or other indicators are allowed in or on the Entry that could indicate who is the author of the Entry.
** Winning entrants must also be able to provide a high resolution digital file suitable for panel verification if required.
** The details of location, date and time of capture of each photograph are mandatory. Any photograph, if found not captured in Bagalkot District will stand to be disqualified.
** Each entry will be judged by the Panel of judges & their decisions will be final.
** Your entries does not contain any false, misleading, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory and pornographic or violate any person’s rights of privacy or publicity.
** All images submitted by the entrants shall be solely owned by the respective entrants.
** By registering for the Competition, the entrants grant unequivocal perpetual license to Catalytic Think Tank Forum, Bangalore to use the images submitted by the entrants for any purpose as Catalytic Think Tank Forum, Bangalore may deem fit, whether or not such purpose is for commercial gain. The entrants agree that the opportunity granted to the entrants by Catalytic Think Tank Forum for participating in the Competition shall form sufficient consideration for such license and that Catalytic Think Tank Forum shall not be required to take any prior permission from the entrants at any point in time for its usage of the submitted images. The entrants further agree that the rights granted to Catalytic Think Tank Forum, Bangalore shall not be in derogation or contradiction to any statutory or contractual obligations/restraints; similarly the entrants shall not grant any rights to any third parties in respect of the said images that would contradict or interfere with Catalytic’s rights over the same. The entrants further agree to execute document/agreement with Catalytic Think Tank Forum, Bangalore to formalise such licensing or any other legally acceptable arrangement if deemed necessary by Catalytic Think Tank Forum, Bangalore, either at the time of submission of images or at any subsequent point in time.
** The payment of registration fee and submission of the images for being judged by the panel of judges would imply the entrants’ acceptance of the terms and conditions contained herein.
