Palestine Essay Competition 2015:

Cash awards of a total Rs 3,00,000 to be won

The Essay topics:

1. Israeli settlements in occupied Palestine are a threat to world peace.
2. Palestine National Authority and Oslo Agreements – an assessment.
3. Modern Palestinian resistance to colonization & judisation – a brief history (1918-2015)
4. Blockade of Gaza Strip – a crime against humanity.
5. Jerusalem under Israeli occupation.

Conditions for the Essay competition:

1. We will prefer that you upload your essay on milligazette.com/Palestine. Email responses will not be accepted. If you are not familiar with the internet you can send by post/speed post/courier in double spaced, single side, Times Roman 12 font size.

2. One person can send only one essay on any of the five topics.

3. Essays should be only in English.

4. Three (first, second and third) prizes of Rs. 30,000, Rs. 20000 and Rs. 10,000 will be given to the best papers for each of the five questions, i.e., 15 prizes will be offered for this year’s competition. The decision of the MG panel of experts will be final and no correspondence, meeting or telephone call will be entertained in this matter.

5. Essays should be original with due references. Where Internet material is used, full URL should be mentioned.

6. Plagiarised or ghost-written essays will not be considered.

7. The prizes will be announced in The Milli Gazette and will be presented in an international conference on Palestine to be held in November 2015 to which winners will be invited and writers of best papers will be invited to deliver them in the conference.

8. Essays selected for prizes will become property of The Mill Gazette and should not be published anywhere without the written permission of The Milli Gazette.

9. Winners may be required to submit valid identification before receiving their prizes. MG will not be liable for technical, hardware, or software failures of any kind or lost or unavailable network connections that may limit or prohibit an eligible entrant’s ability to participate in the competition. By entering this contest you agree to these terms and to allow the free use of your names, photographs and to contact you by phone/email/post in respect of this competition. MG reserves the right at any time to cancel, modify or supersede these conditions. MG reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal value in the event that circumstances beyond our control make this unavoidable.
