What is The Big Short Challenge Contest?

The Big Shorts Challenge Contest is organised by ABC Talkies. This is an opportunity for these talented filmmakers in the form of a short film challenge exclusively for the eight Northeast states. Short Films submitted by Filmmakers from any of the eight Northeast states in any of the regional languages spoken in these states OR in English uploaded on the platform between 1st June 2022 and 26th June 2022 will be allowed to participate in the challenge. . The film with the highest earnings (Number of Tickets Sold X Ticket Price) between 1st July 2022 to 31st July 2022 will be declared the Highest Grossing Film and will also win a cash prize of ₹ 50,000.

Important Details & Timelines

Bigshort-timeline:

Short Film Submission Period: 1st June 2022 to 26th June 2022
Allowed Film Duration: 5 minutes to 25 minutes
Language of the film: English, Meitei or Manipuri, Bengali, Kokborok, Mizo, Khasi, Gnar, Garo, Nagamese, Assamese, Bodo, Nepali, Sikkimese.
Sub-titles: English (Compulsory)
Genre: Any
**The minimum ticket price that a filmmaker can fix including all charges and taxes cannot be below ₹ 10.
**Filmmakers will be paid for every ticket sold irrespective of whether they win the prize or not.
**While submitting the film, the filmmaker will have tick the box saying that this film is for The Big Shorts Challenge (Northeast India).
**It is mandatory to upload the poster and either the teaser or the trailer of the film along with the film.
**Filmmakers are required to promote the film and contest on their social media handles.
**Film with maximum unique tickets sold between 1st July 2022 to 31st July 2022 will be declared the Most Watched Film and will win a cash prize of ₹ 50,000 (statutory taxes to be deducted).
**No. of tickets sold for the contest winner calculation will be on unique viewers’ basis. For example, if a viewer “X” purchases 3 tickets of the same film, it will be calculated as only 1 ticket sold for the contest calculation purpose.

Prizes of ABC Talkies Big Shorts Challenge Contest

The Prizes of ABC Talkies Big Shorts Challenge Contest are given below,
**Film with highest earnings between 1st July 2022 to 31st July 2022 will be declared the Highest Grossing Film and will win a cash prize of ₹ 50,000 (statutory taxes to be deducted).
**This will be done using the formula: Number of Tickets Sold X Ticket Price.
**Minimum tickets to be sold for qualification for Most Watched Film Prize:₹ 1500 (unique viewers as mentioned in point no. 11).
**Minimum Earnings required to qualify for the Highest Grossing Film prize is ₹ 30,000 (as per the formula mentioned in point no. 12).

Terms & Conditions of ABC Talkies Big Shorts Challenge Contest

The Terms & Conditions of ABC Talkies Big Shorts Challenge Contest are given below,
**In case there is any discrepancy found in terms of fake users being created, the filmmaker will be disqualified.
**Films showcasing pornography, hurting religious sentiments, or inciting communal conflict will not be allowed.
**There is no restriction on the number of films that a filmmaker can upload/enter for the challenge.
**The uploaded films will undergo review and will go live for the audience on 1st July 2022 at 9 AM.
**The winner will be announced through social media and website on 10th August 2022.
**Once the winner announcement is done, the winner will have to mail the bank details along with a cancelled cheque and pan card to support [AT] abctalkies.com within the next 5 days.
**The amount after deduction of taxes as applicable shall be credited to the winner’s account by 22nd August 2022 subject to ABC Talkies receiving all the details mentioned in Point No. 10 above latest by 15th August 2022.
**In case of a tie, the prize money will be equally split between the winners.
