What is E&B French Olympiad?

A national French language competition called French Olympiad is proposed to all the students learning French in Indian Schools. French Olympiad is open to all secondary and senior secondary schools affiliated to Indian school boards. French Olympiad is conducted as an online examination on E&B’s platform for this purpose. French Olympiad has two levels of examinations Entry level examination (ELE) and National level examination (NLE). Exam dates are 1st to 17 July, 2023 (Option 1 ELE), 1st to 18 September, 2023 (Option 2 ELE) and 7 to 15 October, 2023 (NLE).

Eligibility of E&B French Olympiad

** The French Olympiad is open to all Indian secondary and Senior Secondary Schools.
** It is open to all students enrolled in all Indian secondary and Senior Secondary Schools.
** It is open to all students except students having French nationality.

Levels of E&B French Olympiad

French Olympiad has two levels of examinations
** Entry level examination (ELE)
** National level examination (NLE)

Entry level exams will be conducted at three different levels:
Level 1: Elementary Level (for class 5-6),
Level 2: Advanced Level (for class 7-8),
Level 3: Proficiency Level (for class 9-10)

Note:
** Entry level exams will be in the form of multiple choice questions.
** Time duration of an ELE examination is 30 minutes after which the candidate can not submit further answers.
** ELE is conducted as an online examination on E&B’s platform for this purpose.
** Date of the ELE is fixed in coordination with the participant school teacher (in case of school groups).

National level exams will be conducted for different levels:
** Elementary Level (Level 1 for class 5-6),
** Advanced Level (Level 2 for class 7-8),
** Proficiency Level (Level 3 for class 9-10)

Note:
** National level exams will be in the form of multiple choice questions.
** Time duration of an NLE examination is 30 minutes after which the candidate can not submit further answers.
** NLE is conducted as an online examination on E&B’s platform for this purpose.
** The questions may also be from outside the practice material provided by E&B.
** Only candidates having participated in ELE and having obtainted more than 60% marks in ELE are eligible to participate in NLE.

How To Participate in the E&B French Olympiad?

To Participate in the E&B French Olympiad, Follow the below steps

Step-1 : Register Yourself
French Olympiad is conducted in two rounds:
** ELE (Entry Level Examination)
** NLE National Level Examination)

The details you enter at the time of registration are used for both ELE and NLE. Please enter the details carefully as the emails and passwords will be shared on these details.

Step-2 : Payment
** After the registration, a new tab “Pay & Get Access” will appear in the header menu.
** This tab will lead you to the page where you can select the Level for which you wish to participate.
** On the completion of the payment, you will receive an automated mail with your ORDER NUMBER.

Step-3 : Access and Payment Confirmation
Credit card payments are immediately confirmed and provide immediate access to the Practice Papers for the level for which the payment has been made. Please note that this payment is also valid for the ELE Final examination.

Exam Details of E&B French Olympiad

French Olympiad may be conducted by the school on any suitable day during the dates indicated earlier for the same in this document, provided that the slot chosen is available. Schedule of exams may be modified in case of National/ State Holidays/ Govt. restrictions/ Technical issue.

Participation Fee of E&B French Olympiad

Participation Fee for ELE:
Rs. 350/- per participant (exclusive of 12% GST) = Rs. 392/- in total per participant.

Participation fee for NLE:
Rs. 450/- per participant (exclusive of 12% GST) = Rs. 504/- in total per participant.

Prizes of E&B French Olympiad

Prizes on the completion of the National Level Examination (NLE) of the French Olympiad 2023 will be awarded as follows:
** Three First Prize Winners of NLE will be awarded with a cheque of Rs. 10,000/- each (Rupees Ten Thousand only).
** Three Second Prize Winners of NLE will be awarded with a cheque of Rs. 5,000/- each (Rupees Five Thousand only).
** Three Third Prize Winners of NLE will be awarded a cheque of Rs. 2,500/- each (Rupees Two Thousand Five Hundred only).

Exam Dates of E&B French Olympiad are

Entry Level Examination (ELE):
Option 1: 1st to 17 July, 2023
Option 2: 1st to 18 September, 2023

National Level Examination (NLE): 7 to 15 October, 2023
