What is Smart India Hackathon?
SIH 2023 brings the next generation evolution by inclusion of new methodology to inculcate the culture of startup and innovation ecosystem across different age groups. World’s biggest open platform for the innovators or entrepreneurs of tomorrow to start today towards a smarter India.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
SIH Junior(Jr) : School students from 6th to 12th class will be able to showcase their talent and generate out-of-the-box open innovation ideas
SIH Senior(Sr) : Regular Students of HEI’s pursuing “Graduate/Post-Graduate/Ph.D” will be able to showcase their talent and generate out-of-the-box open innovation ideas

How to register for Smart India Hackathon?

Step 1 : SIH2023 Software & Hardware Edition: Problem statements submission by Central &State Ministries, Departments, PSUs, Industries & NGOs
Step 2 : Submission of Problem Statements (PSs) by Central & State Ministries, PSUs, Industries and NGOs on the SIH portal. Review of Submitted PSs & finalization by concerned committee Publishing finalized PSs
Step 3 : Registration of College SPOCs on SIH portal Blocking published PSs by SPOCs of Colleges or Institutes Internal campus hackathon to be conducted in each college or institute by their SPOCs on their blocked PSs
Step 4 : College SPOC to be responsible to conduct internal hackathon in the campus College to finalise total best 30 teams + 5 waitlisted teams from the internal hackathon. SPOC to recommend the selected teams for SIH 2023 Software/Hardware edition at SIH portal.
Step 5 : Team leaders of the selected teams to be registered at the SIH portal to submit ideas Submission of ideas by selected teams against PSs by college SPOC for the SIH2023 Finale Evaluation of submitted ideas
Step 6 : Result Analysis and Result Publication.
1. Every successful team requires a guiding force. Here, the SPOCs (Single Point of Contact) within school’s step in. They play a crucial role in identifying and nominating student teams for specific themes, ensuring a smooth and efficient participation process.
2. The School SPOCs (Single Point of Contact) will register them self on the Smart India Hackathon portal. (sih.gov.in)
3. The nomination process is designed to be straightforward. SPOCs can explore the themes on SIH-2023’s official website and nominate teams that submit their ideas in chosen domains / Themes.
4. All the submitted ideas will be evaluated by the domain/Theme experts from Industry.
5. For every theme from each state and UT the top performing ideas will be shortlisted to the Grand Finale of the Smart India hackathon.
6. The Grand Finale for the SIH 2023 Junior Edition will be Physically conducted at different locations in pan India.
7. In the Grand Finale the shortlisted teams from state and UT have to compete with each other in same theme.
8. The Grand Finale tentatively conducted in the month of December 2023

2 Registration & Idea Submission 23rd August 2023 – 31th October 2023
3 Idea Evaluation 16st October 2023 – 15th November 2023
4 Announcement of Finalist (in Batches) 15th November 2023 – 25th November 2023
5 Announcement of the Nodal Center 25th November 2023
6 Grand Finale of the Hackathon 19th December 2023 – 22th December 2023 (Tentative)
