The essay competition is a two-phase activity across all the participating schools in the country for students of classes 6th – 12th. The first phase consists of showcasing inspirational Tata-linked films which hopefully stimulate young minds to think about the nation. Following this, students are asked a few questions based on the films. Thereafter, the students are requested to write an essay on a given topic of national significance.

To ensure a level playing field, the students are divided into 2 participating categories across all languages (Junior – Classes 6th – 8th and Senior – Classes 9th – 12th).

Eligibility of School Essay Competition

This contest is open only to Indian Citizens who are above age of 18 years.

How to Participate in the School Essay Competition?

** This contest will be held on the Instagram page of Tata Building India School Essay Competition.
** The participant must follow the Instagram page of Tata Building India School Essay Competition to be eligible for the contest.
** Entries to the contest will be via comments shared by the contest participants in the comments section of the contest post. No other mode of participation will be accepted for entry into this contest.
** No inappropriate content to be shared. The content provided must not be defamatory and unlawful. Any offensive content will not be accepted.
** Participant should not violate rights of third parties including any literary work of any third person. Quotations of famous personalities can be mentioned with due credit. Such comments will not be considered for the contest.
** Winners will be selected based on a lucky draw.
** The decision of the contest organisers will be final and binding on all participants.

** Contest will remain open from 23rd September till 7th October 2023 (subject to extension) and submissions will be accepted till 11.59 pm on 7th October 2023.

** No correspondence will be entertained by the organisers from the participants or winners with respect to the contest decisions.
** Winner/s of the contest need to share their name and valid email id by direct message on Instagram once contacted by the contest organisers. The details provided by the contestant may be validated entirely at the discretion of the contest organizers.
** Prizes once awarded will be final and there would be no exchange/substitution of the prizes to the winners.
** The contest organiser reserves the right to alter/ amend/ modify any rules of any contest at any time without any notice whatsoever.
** The contest organiser reserves the right to withdraw or terminate this contest at any time without prior notice.

Prizes of School Essay Competition

The winners and runners-up at each edition of the Tata Building India School Essay Competition are rewarded 3 levels: first at the school level, followed by city level and finally at the national level.

The school level winners are awarded at the schools, and special functions are held to felicitate city level winners at a regional level. The national level winners are felicitated in New Delhi. Prizes* at the school level include certificates, medals and special Tata Building India merchandise. The city winners and the runners-up receive online gift vouchers, e-certificates and e-medals. The national level winners receive online gift vouchers of significant value as the grand prize as also e-certificates and e-medals.

The crowning moment for the national winners and the runners-up is the intended visit to the Rashtrapati Bhavan and a face-to-face meeting with a national dignitary.
