What is Star Vijay Super Shopping Contest?

Super Shopping Contest 2023 is organized by Star India. The Contest will be conducted on the Channel Star Vijay Super. This contest is open to Indian Citizen and a resident of Tamilnadu only. The Contest shall comprise of 01 (one) multi-choice question on each day of the Contest Period based on the brand POTHYS. Each Winner shall be entitled to a gratification of one silk saree which does not exceed Rs.7,500/-. Last Date of Contest is 3rd November 2023.

Eligibility of Super Shopping Contest

** The Participant(s) interested in participating in the Contest must be above the age of 18 (eighteen) years, Indian Citizen and a resident of Tamilnadu only.

** The Participant(s) should not have been previously convicted of any criminal offense or must not be a party to an arrangement or a contract that prevents them from participating in the Contest.

** Proof of age, if requested, of the Participant(s) must be submitted to STAR India (i.e., Birth Certificate, 10th Class leaving Certificate/ School certificate/ passport/ an affidavit signed by a magistrate and attested in such manner) as may be required by STAR India to confirm the eligibility of the Participant(s).

** Star India also reserves the right to disqualify a Participant(s)/ Winner(s) in case a discrepancy is found to exist in the information furnished/ provided/ stated by the Participant(s)/ Winner(s) at any point of time during the Contest Period.

How to Participate in the Super Shopping Contest?

1. Star India shall announce the Contest via promos on the Channel and other channels of Star India, newspaper ads, radio, outdoor and digital and social media platforms of the Channel (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) or through any other medium of exploitation which shall be at the sole discretion of Star India.

2. The Contest shall commence from 25th October 2023 at 6:30 pm Indian Standard Time (“IST”) and shall conclude on 3rd November 2023 at 9:30 pm IST (“Contest Period”) on the Channel. Star India reserves all rights to make amendments to the Contest Period or such other terms and conditions stated herein, without giving prior notice.

** It shall be the sole responsibility of the Participant(s) to check the Terms and Conditions for the Contest on the Channel and /or the Website, from time to time. Star India also reserves the right to cancel and/or postpone the Contest without any prior intimation to the Participant(s).

3. The Contest shall comprise of 01 (one) multi-choice question on each day of the Contest Period based on the brand POTHYS (“Question”). The total number of Questions triggered during the Contest Period shall not exceed 10 (ten) multi choice questions. It is clarified that the Questions will be refreshed on a daily basis by Star India.

** It is further clarified that the Contest shall be triggered only during the telecast of the Star Vijay Super Programs between 6:30 pm IST to 9:30 pm IST timeslot during the Contest Period and no other timeslots.

** For the purposes of this Terms and Conditions, the Question shall be displayed on the Channel during the telecast of the Star Vijay Super Programs on a Promo of 05-10 seconds along with the mechanism for every Participant to participate in the Contest.

** The lines will remain open during Contest Period from 6:30 pm IST to 9:30 pm IST (“Answer Timeline”) during the Contest Period.

4. To participate in the Contest and to be eligible for the Prize (as defined below), the interested Participant(s) shall be required to correctly answer the Questions during the Contest Period, by making a missed call to the unique mobile numbers shown against the correct answer option to the Questions.

** If the Participant(s) provides an incorrect Answer(s) then his/her Entry (as defined below) shall be considered incomplete, and the Participant(s) shall not be eligible for the Prize (as defined below).

** Answer(s)/Entry(s) received by Star India after the Contest Period will not be considered and shall be deemed null and void without requirement of any further intimation by Star India.

** It is further clarified that SMS sent by the Participant to an incorrect number or without the requisite characters or <space> or correct alphabets or numeric/s in the order specified or SMS sent after the Contest Period will be deemed invalid and entry of such Participant will be disqualified.

** For purposes of this Contest, “receipt” of Answer(s) occurs when the mobile/network operator records the Answer information upon the Participant(s) sending the SMS and the Participant(s) receiving a thank you message stating “Thank you for participating in Super Shopping contest. Your response has been recorded Thank you!. Your participation confirms that you agree to contest T&Cs and Privacy Policy of the Contest”.

** Any automated receipt confirmation does not constitute proof of actual receipt. Providing the correct Answer of the Question of the Contest during the Contest Period by the Participant(s) through SMS shall be considered as a complete and valid entry (“Entry”).

** For the avoidance of doubt, by submitting the Entry and /or Answer(s) the Participant(s) is representing that the Entry(s) and /or Answer(s) or contents thereof are not confidential or comprise any sensitive Personal Information.

** It is clarified that each Participant(s) shall be permitted to submit /provide Answer(s) only 1 (one) time through SMS for the Question during the Contest Period. If the Participant submits more than 01 (one) SMS/Entry then such submission of Answer(s) Entry shall be invalid and only the first valid Entry registered with Star India will be taken into consideration.

** Answer/s Entries (i.e. SMS) received after the Contest Period for the Question of the Contest shall be considered null and void.

Selection Of Winner & Gratification of Super Shopping Contest

** During the Contest Period, on the basis of the Participant (s) having made a valid Entry and correct Answer(s) within the Answer Timelines, to the respective Question triggered telecast of the Star Vijay Super Programs between 6:30 pm IST to 9:30 pm IST timeslot, SIPL will select two (02) winners on randomiser basis for each Question and thus there will be total twenty (20) Winners for the 10 Questions i.e., for the entire Contest.

** Each Winner shall be entitled to a gratification of one silk saree which does not exceed Rs.7,500/- (Rupees Seven Thousand Five Hundred only) each (“Gratification”).

** It is further clarified that Star India shall at its sole discretion select the Winner and allocate the Prize to the selected Winners by way of a random selection based on the criterion mentioned herein. The Winner shall be declared within 40 (forty) days from the end of the Contest Period via Promos on the Channel and on social media platforms of the Channel.

** The Winners of the Contest shall be declared via Promos on the Channel and on social media platforms of the Channel.

** Star India will send SMS will to the Winners informing him/her of the date/time at which the Prize may personally collected by the Winner from a designated venue (Pothys showroom) located in Chennai or any other location, at the discretion of and as pre-informed by STAR India.

** The Winner shall be announced on the Channel and /or Website or any other medium as Star India may deem fit and necessary, at its sole discretion. For the sake of clarity, mere participation in the Contest does not entitle the Participant(s) to win the Prize.

** Only the Participant(s) having made a valid Entry(s) and providing the correct Answer(s) during the Contest Period shall be entitled to the Prize. It is further clarified that save and except the Prize stated hereinabove, the Participant(s)/ Winner shall not be entitled to any other form of gratification (monetary or otherwise).

** Entries sent after the Contest Period will not be considered for the Contest and shall be deemed null and void.
