What is Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation Marathon?

The Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation Marathon (VVMCM) started as a state level event in 2011 and has grown into one of the country’s premier National level running event, offering the highest prize money for Indian athletes, both professional and amateur. The VVMCM offers prize money in excess of Rs 54 Lacs. There is a separate prize money fund for participants from the Vasai-Virar Taluka region. Last Date of Registration is 24th November, 2023.

Categories of Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation Marathon

VVMCM has four timed categories:
Full Marathon (42.195km), Half Marathon (21.097km), 11km Open Run, 5 km Open Run and Dhamaal Dhaav (4km). Besides these, the VVMCM also four offers a unique opportunity for running groups called the Battle Run, offering attractive prize money.

** Marathon, Half Marathon, 11K Run and 5K Run races are compulsorily timed categories.

Eligibility of Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation Marathon

** Marathon and Half Marathon applicant needs to be of 18 years or more on the date of the race, i.e. born on or before 10th December, 2005.
** 11K Run applicant needs to be 15 years or more on the date of the race, i.e. born on or before 10th December, 2008
** 5K Run applicant needs to be of 14 years or more on the date of the race, i.e. born on or before 10th December, 2009.
** Dhamaal Dhaav applicant needs to be of 10 years or more on the date of the race, i.e. born on or before 10th December, 2013.

How to Participate in the Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation Marathon?

** Once a T-shirt size is selected any exchange request will not be entertained at all.
** Only one applicant can apply for the Event using a single form. Also, do not send in more than one entry per person; multiple applications will entail all being rejected.
** Applicants must submit their entries only via the Application Modes given in this form. No individual/group has been authorized to collect entries on behalf of the Event.
** GROUP ENTRIES will be accepted for the Marathon / Half Marathon/11K Run/5K Run/Dhamaal Dhaav race categories.

Before sending in your application, please check the following :
** Filled in details against all mandatory fields prefixed with ‘*’ in the application form;
** Attached a copy of your latest color passport-sized photograph on the form;
** Attached a copy of your Govt. issued Photo ID proof, i.e. either Passport, Driving license, Election Card, or Aadhaar card.
** Enclosed the requisite application fees (refer to ‘Application Fees’ chart)
** Signed the ‘waiver’ in the application form.
** Applicant meets the minimum age eligibility criteria for the chosen race category.
Where any discrepancy is found in any of the above-mentioned mandatories, your application will not be accepted.

** On entry confirmation, Marathon, Half marathon, 11K, and 5K runners will be further classified into age categories for prize money. For more information log on to the event website www.vvmm.in

Note: Foreigners residing in India who wish to participate and be eligible for the prize money have to produce valid proof of residence. The prize money will be given in Indian Rupees only.

** Valid email id is mandatory for all timed race participants.
** Email confirmations will be sent to all the participants who have given their valid email id in the application form.
** Requests for cancellation and thereby, refund will not be entertained.
** Request for change in race category will not be entertained. Be careful while selecting your race category at the time of registration.
** Confirmed participants will not be given their running bibs on the race day.

01 What are the Various Race Categories in VASAI VIRAR MUNICIPAL CORPORATION MARATHON?
The VASAI VIRAR MUNICIPAL CORPORATION MARATHON-VVMCM has 4 timed races i.e Marathon, Half Marathon, 11K Run for Amateurs, 5K Run for Amateurs and The Dhamaal Dhaav (Fun Run).

02 How do I register for the above mentioned Race Categories?
There are two ways of registering for VVMCM. 1) Online & 2) Offline

03 How do I register online?
You can register online from our website www.vvmm.in under the registration tab.

04 What is the registration fee?
The fees for online and offline registration is Rs. 750 (Exclusive of GST and Processing fees) for Marathon, Half Marathon and 11K Run & Rs. 700 (Exclusive of GST and Processing fees) for 5K Run. The fees for Dhamaal Dhaav is Rs.100 (Exclusive of GST and Processing fees.).

05 When will I get my entry confirmation and bib number?
If you have registered online through our event website the entry confirmation e-mail will be sent to you as soon as you register for the races, while the bib number will be sent to you within after 20th November, 2023 on the e-mail id provided by you at the time of registration. For offline registration a receipt will be provided at the registration office and the Bib number will be sent within 15 working days on the e-mail id provided by you at the time of registration.

Confirmation SMS with the BIB No will be sent to the participants 10 days prior to the Expo.

06 I accidently filled the wrong information, can I change it?
Any changes regarding the Name, D.O.B, age, gender and email address can be done provided you send an e-mail at [email protected] intimating about the necessary changes within 48 hours of registration and it matches with your id proof.

07 I am facing problems with registration/payment and I have not received a confirmation e-mail?
In case of any issues with registration or payment kindly send us an e-mail on [email protected] and one of our representatives will get in touch with you.

08 Do I have an option of switching the race categories after I register?
No, it is not possible to change race categories once you have registered for a particular race category. Please be diligent when choosing your race category.

09 Is there an option for cancellation and refund if I am not able to run because of some unforeseen circumstances?
We cannot provide any refund against cancellation so be careful while planning for the race.

10 What do I get on the day I collect my BIB?
You will be given a running bib with a timing chip at the time of BIB distribution.
