What is ETS TOEFL India Championship?

ETS India Private Limited is conducting the “TOEFL INDIA Championship 2024” Contest. The Contest consists of two levels i.e., Round 1 and Round 2. The participant must be a citizen of India holding a valid passport to participate in the Contest. The TOEFL India Championship is your chance to win and take a big step towards fulfilling your study abroad dreams. This nationwide competition for Indian test takers offers a chance to win from total prize money worth ₹15 lacs. Last Date of Contest is 15th May 2024.

Eligibility of TOEFL India Championship

The following criteria shall be met by each participant to be eligible for the Contest:
Citizenship: The participant must be a citizen of India holding a valid passport to participate in the Contest.

Offer Period: Round 1 of the TOEFL INDIA Championship shall be open from 5th April 2024 to 15th May 2024 and Round 2 for the Grand Prize shall only be open for the TOEFL iBT® test takers who registered and took the test during the period from 5th April 2024 to 31st July 2024.

** In case of the participant being a student, he/she must be currently enrolled in the third, or fourth year of an undergraduate degree program at an accredited Indian Higher Education Institution i.e. a college or university.

** Whereas, students who have completed their undergraduate or graduate studies in India and looking for higher education abroad. Further, if the participant is a professional, he/she must have up to two (2) years of verifiable professional work experience.

** It is hereby also clarified that the successful completion of Round 1 by the participant of the Contest with a minimum percentage of 35% is mandatory to be eligible to participate in Round 2.

Prizes of TOEFL India Championship

** ETS India shall declare the winners of Round 1 of the Contest within 15 days and cash prizes will be distributed within 30 days of concluding Round 1. For Round 2 of the contest, winners will be declared in 30 days of the late day of Round 2.
** The grand prizes will be disbursed within 15 days of receiving all necessary documents which include the admission offer from a foreign university and valid id proof among other details. (“Winner”).
** However, no such requests for grand prize will be entertained if the documents are not received based on the last date communicated by ETS India for submission of documents.

Cash Prizes for Round 1: A total of Rs 4 Lacs will be distributed amongst the winners in the following manner:
1st (1 winner): ₹50,000
2nd (2 winners): ₹40,000 each
3rd (3 winners): ₹30,000 each
1st Runner Up (4 winners): ₹20,000 each
2nd Runner Up (10 winners): ₹10,000 each

Grand Prizes: The participants who complete Round 1 and further score a minimum of 75 marks in the TOEFL iBT® exam shall be eligible to win the Grand Prizes in the following manner:
Grand Prizes (Total – ₹11,00,000):
1st (1 winner): ₹2,50,000
2nd (2 winners): ₹2,00,000 each
3rd (3 winners): ₹1,50,000 each

** For the purpose of better understanding, it is hereby clarified that the participants taking part in Round 1 of the Contest, whether winning the Cash Prize thereunder or not, shall be eligible for participation in Round 2 of the Contest if they have scored more than 35% in Round 1.

Selection Criteria of TOEFL India Championship

Round 1 Cash Prizes Selection: Round 1 cash prizes aggregating to ₹4 lakhs will be selected solely based on the scores achieved in the designated Round 1 quiz. This includes both the overall score and individual time taken to complete the round 1 quiz.

Round 2 Grand Prizes Selection: Round 2 grand prizes aggregating to ₹11 lakhs will be selected based on scores achieved in the TOEFL iBT test. This includes both the overall score and individual section scores across Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing in case of a tie in the overall score.

** ETS India shall disburse the Cash Prize for Round 1 and/or the Grand Prize for Round 2, as the case may be, in Indian Rupees (INR) only and directly to the Winner’s designated bank account as provided in advance (through a canceled cheque), by the Winner in writing through an e-mail to ETS India at register4toefl[AT]etsindia.org.
