What is National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Award?
National Dhanvantari Avurveda Award 2024 is organized by Ministry of Ayush , Ayurveda Section. Ayurveda practitioners who are eligible may be nominated by either themselves or another individual. The eligible Applicants may apply online in the prescribed format to the Ministry of Ayush, along with necessary documents/certificates. Award will be announced on the day before the “Ayurveda Day”. The awardee will be presented with a cash prize of Rs.5 lakh, a Trophy, Sanad, Citation & Shawl/Angvastram. Last Date of Nomination is 30th July 2024.
Objectives of National Dhanvantari Avurveda Award
Objectives of the award are:
i. To motivate the vaidayas and Ayurveda experts to adopt best practices of Ayurveda in the pursuit of excellence
ii. To encourage excellence through competition
Eligibility of National Dhanvantari Avurveda Award
1. Significant contribution to the field of Ayurveda in terms of promotion and propagation of Ayurveda at the National /International level / Teaching /Research and development /Policy and planning for Ayurveda promotion and integration at the National level, integration of Ayurveda in various National Health Programs benefiting people at large scale, etc.
2. Renowned Ayurvedic practitioners with minimum 20 years of professional experience.
3. Age of the professional should not be less than 40 Years.
4. A Degree in Ayurveda recognized as per the provisions of the national commission for Indian System of medicine Act, 2020 or the Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970 as applicable would be eligible for the award.
5. Past awardees will not be considered for a second time for the same award.
Decoration of National Dhanvantari Avurveda Award
The awardee will be presented with a cash prize of Rs.5 lakh, a Trophy, Sanad, Citation & Shawl/Angvastram.

There shall be 3 awards to be given annually.

Ayurveda practitioners who are eligible may be nominated by either themselves or another individual.
Selection Process of National Dhanvantari Avurveda Award
The applications received online will be scrutinized for developing a data sheet on essential criteria, desirable criteria, and additional criteria. The qualifying candidates will be scored and the final selection will be recorded.
Ceremony Details :
The award shall be presented at the time of the Annual “Ayurveda Day” to be celebrated on Dhanawantari Jayanti (Dhanteras).
Scoring Pattern for National Dhanvantari Avurveda Award
Significant Contribution in the field of Ayurveda :
0-50 marks can be given to the applicants depending on the nature and significance of the contribution under below mentioned in the field of Ayurveda. Selection cum search committee can decide the marks given to the applicants.
i. Promotion & Propagation of Ayurveda :
Developing infrastructure, developing schemes and their optimai implementation, legal empowerment of Ayurvedic doctors, any other activity leading to increased outreach of Ayurveda, providing job opportunities to Ayurveda doctors and other human resource. Generating confidence in Ayurveda practice. Generating financial resource and/leading to significant improvement in Ayurveda sector.
ii. Practice / Health Care : Offering quality health care in Ayurveda at Primary, Secondary & Tertiary level / Private Institutions and successfully promoting Ayurvada in Health Care in India & Abroad.
iii. Research and Development (R&D) : Significant contribution in the area of Contemporary research / Output oriented research / Ayurveda Biology / Innovative research.
iv. Academics I Education : Renowned academician / new initiatives for the betterment of Ayurveda education system/brought out quality work from his/her students.
v. Governance / Administration : Significantly contributed in policy making / Strategy! planning related to promotion and for wider acceptance of Ayurveda.
vi. Public Health : Serving for community health service / Preventive health care! palliative health care! National Health Programs! creating awareness regarding Ayurveda.
Personal Significant Achievement :
A. Positions:
0-10 marks can be given to the applicants depending on the nature and significance of the contribution under below mentioned personal significant achievement. Selection cum search committee can decide the marks given to the applicants.
