What is KYN Short Film Contest?

KYN Short Film Contest 2024 is organized by Know Your Neighbourhood. The participant must be above 18 years of age and citizen of India. This is an amazing opportunity to showcase the work of all aspiring film directors in Chennai through the medium of a 5-minute short film. The goal is to provide a stage for aspiring filmmakers to cultivate their unique identities and gain recognition as prominent directors in Indian cinema. Last Date of Contest is 06th September 2024.

Theme of KYN Short Film Contest

“Know Your Neighbourhood”
** The plot of the short film should be centered around at least one local element of your Neighborhood i.e, people, areas, landmarks, events of neighborhood, as a significant character.
** Short film must be from 2 minutes – 5 minutes.

Registration Process of KYN Short Film Contest

** Download the KYN app – IOS | Android
** Click the Carousel of “Take One Short Film”
** Read the Rules & Regulations
** Click “Register” to fill in the required details.
** Upon verification of the details, an authorized representative will validate the information and give the necessary permissions to upload the short film on KYN Account
** Upload the short film in your KYN account

Rules and Regulations of KYN Short Film Contest

KYN, with an aim to promote the short films and encourage the upcoming directors, producers, and other artistes, shall conduct this Contest through their Platform, as per the rules and regulations as listed below for a smooth functioning.
** The participant must be above 18 years of age and a lawful citizen of India.
** Only one entry per participant.
** All short films shall be uploaded in the correct format on or before 06-09-2024
** Each participant shall submit/upload only one short film.
** The Short Film should be in Tamil / English.
** The storyline should stick to the theme given.
** All entries must be accompanied by Poster of the short film (Poster Size – 1280 x 720 pixels and up to 2MB)
** Films once entered cannot be withdrawn.
** The duration for the short film must be from 2 minutes – 5 minutes.
** The short film must be original and no watermark of any kind should be on the short film.
** The film must be 1080p quality/ MP4 Format. (2GB Maximum)
** Proper Audio and Color correction is a must, in case of failure to ensure the same, it would lead to direct disqualification.
** Any music tracks used by the participants in the short film shall be either originally created by the music director of the concerned short film team, or if it is borrowed from any other music director not being part of the concerned team then the copyright license/right to use such music track should have been duly obtained as per applicable laws by the filmmaker and team before uploading/submitted their short film.
