What is Kasthuri Sreenivasan Memorial Textile Quiz?

Kasthuri Sreenivasan Memorial Textile Quiz 2024 6th Inter Collegiate Quiz Competition is organized by Kasthuri Sreenivasan Trust. The Competition is open for Students of Textiles. As the response was good, it was decided to conduct the quiz biennially. The 6th Quiz programme will be conducted on Saturday the 14th September 2024. Last Date of Contest is 7th September 2024.

Format of Kasthuri Sreenivasan Memorial Textile Quiz

The Quiz will be conducted separately for
** Group I – 3rd year students of Diploma in Textile courses in Polytechnic Colleges.
** Group II – 3rd & 4th year students of Degree in Textile Technology/Fashion Technology/Apparel and Garment Technology in Engineering Colleges and Universities.

The Competition Format :
Qualifying round : All enrolled teams have to undergo a written test of objective type questions. Six teams in each Group will qualify for the finals.
Finals : Ten rounds of questions including an audio round, a picture & logo identification round, rapid fire round, etc.

** Questions for both qualifying round and quiz shall be drawn from different functional areas of textiles namely raw material (cotton & synthetic, spinning, weaving, non woven, knitting, chemical processing, garmenting, fashion/costume designing, operational measures,textile engineering, spares and leading brands.

How to Apply for Textile Quiz?

** A maximum of 5 teams only from each college.

Prize of Kasthuri Sreenivasan Memorial Textile Quiz

** Competing teams will vie for the “Kasthuri Sreenivasan Shield” which will be awarded to the 1st prize winners of each group. Cash prizes for each Group
** Group I – Rs.25,000/- Rs.20,000/- andRs.15,000/-
** Group II- Rs.30,000/- Rs.25,000/- and Rs.20,000/-
** Winners will get three years free subscription for the textile magazine, Spinning Textiles and one year for runners

Programme schedule for the day :
Team Registration – 9.00 to 9.45 a.m.
Qualifying Round – 9.45 to 11.00 a.m.
Tea – 11.00 to 11.15 a.m.
Finals – 11.30 to 1.00 p.m. 2.00 to 3.30 p.m.
Lunch / Tea – 1.00 to 2.00 p.m. / 3.30 to 4.00 p.m.
Video Presentation – 4.00 to 4.30 p.m.
Prize Distribution – 5.00 p.m.

Rules & Regulations of Textile Quiz

** Each team should consist of two students from the same College. Each college can nominate a maximum of five teams including all their departments.
** Replacement of any participant or interchanging of team members will not be entertained once we receive the registration forms.
** The rules of the quiz are subject to review and the decision of the adjudicators is final.

What you need to bring?
Online registered Application Forms duly attested by their Head of the Department/Principal, ID Card and Bonafide Certificate. All materials like papers, pencils, pens, etc. required during the quiz and the preliminary rounds shall be provided by the Trust.

Travel & Accommodation :
All outstation participants from places exceeding 50kms.shall be reimbursed their travel cost of sleeper class train fare or bus fare on submission of the tickets. They will also be eligible for accommodation. All requests for the same should be sent along with the enrollment forms. Late requests for accommodation can only be entertained if available.
