Sony Alpha Stories Challenge

** Participation in the contest is voluntary. Participants are advised to read the “Terms and Conditions”. Participation in the contest shall imply that the participant has duly read and agrees to adhere to and bound by the “Terms and Conditions” stated herein. The contest will include themes for 45 days each month. Every 45 days a new theme will be revealed for Alpha members/ users to participate.

** The contest shall commence from Sep 1st, 2014 at 11:00 AM and shall terminate on June 30th 09:00 PM. The contest will be played in 2 different parts every month i.e. “Alpha stories Photo Submission” and “140 Characters Great Story”. “Alpha Stories Photo submission” shall start from 1st of every month and continue till 20th day of every phase, starting September, 2014 till September, 2016.

** “140 Characters Great Story” Shall start from 27th day of the ongoing theme and will continue till 35th day of the same phase/theme starting 20th September, 2014 till September, 2016. “Alpha Stories Photo Submission” is open to citizens of India, residents in India only, who own and Alpha camera and are registered Alpha users on the Community.

** “140 Characters Great Story” is open to citizens of India, residents in India only. Employees of Sony India Pvt. Ltd. (“Sony India”), Sony Entertainment television (SET), Sony Videos (SPE) and its affiliates, subsidiaries, representatives and immediate family members of such Sony group companies employees are not eligible to participate in the contest. Citizens of foreign countries residing in India/ or non-residents Indians are also not eligible to participate in the contest.

** Sony India will scrutinize all users for conditions mentioned under the ambit of “REJECTION/DISQUALIFICATION”. Any user found flouting the “REJECTION/DISQUALIFICATION” terms will be disqualified immediately without any prior notice to the participant. Sony India cannot be held liable for such action.

** Sony India shall not be liable for any damage or loss (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) arising from personal injury or death, or loss of, or damage to property, which might be suffered or sustained in connection with the offer or the prize, except to the extent to any liability not excluded by law.

** A user must be a follower of Sony IndiaIndia Twitter Handle to be eligible for the “140 Characters Great story” contest and must use the mandatory hashtag ‘#AlphaStories’ and the ‘dedicated #hashtag’ for that picture. Photos submitted to the respective theme will only be eligible for further contest.

** Alpha Expertwillshortlist 5 photos, during each new phase, out of all the submitted pictures for a theme. Then these shortlisted 5 photos will be opened for twitter users to submit their “140 Character Great Stories”. This shall not be treated as Copyrights violation in any manner.

** “140 Character Great Stories” can be submitted only for those photos. In each stage/theme of 45 days, 2 winners of the contest will be chosen. 1 From the photo submission challenge will stand a chance to win Alpha lens every month and 1 from “140 Character Great Story” will win an Alpha camera every month.

** Winners will be chosen on Sole Discretion of Alpha Experts. Sony India will reserve the final rights to choose the winners of the contests.

Rejection/Disqualification:
** Only 1 entry/ photo by a user will be qualified for each photo. User who submits more than 1 entry for 1 photo will be disqualified for the entire contest and blocked from Sony India Twitter handle. Sony India reserves the right to disqualify and/or ban any user found using manipulative/ unfair means to participate in the contest.

** Sony India reserves the right to disqualify any participant / even winner if it has reasonable reasons to believe that the participant/winner has breached any of the “Terms and Conditions” of the contest. Sony India will do rigorous background check on the activities related to participation in this contest to ensure that only genuine participants win the contest. Sony India will also send direct messages to any participant to check upon the person’s participation at the Contest.

** Any participant found to be copying or using any unauthorized or copyrighted video/text shall be immediately banned from the Contest. Sony India shall not be liable for any copyright claims arising so forth. Sony India shall not be responsible in any manner to anybody including any of the participants for the misuse of any video/ image/ text at this Contest.

** Sony India reserves the right to choose another participant/ winner in the event of disqualification/rejection of any of the participant/ winner. Winner of previous themes will not be eligible again for further participation.

Winners:

** Sony Alpha experts reserve the sole rights to decide on winners of 9 themes. Their decision on winner is final and binding for all participants.

** Sony India will do a rigorous check to verify the authenticity of winners. This would include a check on the genuinity of the winners. This is just to ensure that only genuine people participate and have a chance to win the Contest and spurious user accounts are kept away from the contest

Prize:
** In each theme/stage, 2 winners of the contest will be chosen. 1 From the photo submission challenge will stand a chance to win Alpha lens every month and 1 from “140 Character Great Story” will win aSLT-A58K every month. The winner shall be invariably required to produce valid identity proofs.

** The winner shall be required to provide self-attested proof of identity, proof of residence and all other necessary documents for verification. In case of the validation failure, the prize will be cancelled.

** Winner must submit all documents for reviews in the manner communicated by Sony India. In case the shortlisted participants fail to contact the specified person on or before the designated date mentioned in the winner confirmation email, the winner shall be deemed to have surrendered the prize.

** Sony India may, without advance notice cancel, suspend or postpone the contest at any time. The ‘Terms and Conditions’ contained herein and as amended/ modified from time to time as mentioned at the Sony Alpha Community website alphacommunity.sony.co.in shall apply to this Contest.It is the Users/ Winners/ Participants responsibility to check regularly, in order to ascertain if any changes have been made to these Terms and Conditions.

** In case of change in date of event or cancellation thereof for any reason beyond control of Sony India, Sony India shall not be responsible in any manner whatsoever. Disputes relating to this Contest shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Delhi only.

** Participants who have not attained the age of majority i.e. 18 shall be required to get a written consent from the parent/ guardian in order to claim prize. Sony India may use the winner’s picture and/ or communication further for marketing communication purpose with due credit to the winner. This shall not be treated as Copyrights violation in any manner.
