GBBC India Photo Contest

** If you have a camera with you when taking part in the GBBC in India, whether a digital SLR, point and shoot, or just your phone, then do enter this year’s photo contest. The theme is “People and Birds”.

** On any of the GBBC days, i.e. 12 – 15 February 2016, take photos that reflect this theme: we are not looking just for great bird photos (which hopefully you will take anyway and upload with your eBird checklists!) but photos that capture that little something more about people and their interactions with birds. The winner will receive a small prize.

** To avoid undue stress to birds when photographing, please read and comply with the Audubon Guide to Ethical Bird Photography. All entries will be judged by three well-known Indian wildlife photographers: Ramki Sreenivasan, Rathika Ramasamy and Sumit Sen.

** They will be assessing photos on how well they reflect the theme and convey the spirit of the GBBC together with their artistic merit, rather than just technical competence. Note that there is also a photo contest for GBBC globally and you may of course enter that as well!

How to enter your photos for the contest:
** Upload your photo directly by clicking the link below. Then you can “Browse…” to select your photo, complete the photo name/title, any description you want to add, followed by your name, email and the location where the photo was taken. Click “Upload photo” and your entry will be submitted.

** If you have any problems entering photos this way then you can email them, with the same details, to birdcountindia@gmail.com. You may repeat this process for as many photos as you wish. All entered photos will be moderated to check that they comply with the rules, and will then be visible in the GBBC 2016 Photo Contest album.

Rules:
** Photos should ideally be in JPEG format and close to 2000px on the longest side (and not more than 3000px)
** All images shall have been taken during GBBC 2016 (12-15 Feb) in India
** Images must represent the theme “People and Birds” – submitted images that are not considered to reflect this theme shall be rejected
** You must be the sole author and owner of any images you enter
** Any number of images may be entered
** If any significant post-processing is performed, other than basic cropping, colour adjustments and dust removal, then this shall be mentioned in the photo description
** Last Date for uploading photos is 1 week after GBBC finishes, i.e. 22 February 2016
** Judges decisions are final!
