Registration Details :
** All the interested students in participating are requested to fill a registration form giving their preference of workshop.
** Once the seats of first preference workshop are completely filled then the student will be automatically allotted their second preference and so on following the preference order. The registrations will open on 13 July. 17:00 hrs.
** The registrations will be closed on 20 July. We will send you the IIT Madras Amalgam account details latest by 25 July. The conformation of registration will be done only when the applicant mails us back with soft copy of the payment details to IIT Madras Amalgam account.
** Multiple workshops can be attended by students if there are vacancies after everyone’s first preference has been considered.
** There will be a certain number of interested students put in the waiting list for each workshop which will be used if a registered participant cancels the registration or failed to report at the venue at least 15 minutes before the start of the workshop.

** Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Amalgam Main quiz! You are asked a question, you search it for clues, one teammate suggests one strand of thought, another suggests an alternative, you rack your brains and suddenly it all falls into place.
** And this process is great fun, especially the Eureka moment when you crack a question, or even hear the answer!!!
** This year’s quiz is going to be bigger better and much harder than usual… so don’t forget to get your thinking caps along!

Paper & Poster Presentation :
** Science comprises of facts and hard evidences. With solely the knowledge of facts, and no connections between them, the facts are quite ineffective.
** It is after connecting the dots, stringing the facts, gluing together the pieces that science begins to take place.
** This is where reason comes in. It is through research that one can reason out and put together the puzzled pieces.
** The true goal of all scientific research is to contribute to the consensus of universally accepted knowledge.
** Therefore, this year at Amalgam 2015, we invite you all to come and communicate your findings and make them practicable in form of Paper & Poster Presentations.
** After registration, you’ll be asked to submit the abstracts which will decide your selection in the presentation round.

Treasure Hunt/Fun with Materials :
** Are you ready to explore? Come and participate in a thrilling treasure hunt here at Amalgam 2015.
** Win exciting prizes by looking for clues and solving puzzles, applying your basic knowledge about materials.

Photography :
** U don’t need theoretical knowledge! Just a good creative thinking with ability to correlate things which we see with the things which we study.
** A photography from the macroscopic world should be taken and should be compared with a structure which is in the microscopic world.

T-shirt designing :
** Not everything in about learning and writing tests! You have many ways of expressing your thoughts.
** For example VISUALS! If you have the ability to make people understand your ideologies and viee through your sketches, here you go!
** You have to design a T-shirt which is related to metallurgy! It should convey the world something about metallurgy and materials! This is an online event.
** You have to design a t shirt in software and mail us.
** Not proficient in using softwares to design t-shirt? Pencil sketching is also fine! Partial points will be awarded!

Steel challenge :
** Iron and steel making is major production and manufacturing industry in the world.
** Billions of tons of steel is produced every year.
** Most of the things around us are made of Iron and its alloys! Interested in Iron and steel making?
** This event is for you! It is a quizzing event and your knowledge on steel making and its properties will be tested.
** Team of 2 can participate in this event.
